ROC Skincare predicts the most wrinkle-prone cities in America – is your city on the list?

This post was sponsored by RoC® Skincare as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central.

Wrinkles 1

Wrinkles… we all get them and most of us (including myself) dread them.

I have been fortunate that my wrinkles didn’t appear on my face until about a year ago. I used to think that being overweight and having extra fat on my body helped to keep the wrinkles from forming. Apparently I was very wrong.

I have wrinkles around my mouth and eyes. I don’t mind aging – per say – but I do mind looking older.

What exactly causes wrinkles? Is it just age or are their other factors at play?

Wrinkles are caused by a variety of thing including age, stress and your environment (weather, pollution…). I never know that. I honestly thought it was only aging that caused wrinkles.

Even your geographic location an play a part in your wrinkles. I find that totally fascinating.

Wrinkles 2

Are you familiar with the brand RoC? RoC makes a variety of retinol corrextion products that help fight the signs of aging.

The brand recently did a study to determine which cities in the United States are more prone to wrinkles based on factors other than aging. You can check out the 2016 RoC® Wrinkle Ranking for yourself and see where your city fits in. The study was conducted by RoC® Skincare and Sperling’s Best Places.

Things that were taken into consideration included lifestyle, occupational and environmental factors that directly and indirectly cause skin damage. These factors were weighted by relevancy to skin damage risk. All of the data collected was adjusted by the current population to arrive at “per capita” figures which providean accurate comparison between cities of varying sizes.

The closest city to me is New York City. I was shocked to find that New York City is ranked #8 on the list. I figured it would be listed as #1 (the city with the most wrinkles based on the various factors). Philadelphia, Pennsylvania ranked #1. I was shocked by that.

Places I assumed were peaceful and calm places to live (compared to New York City) like Denver, Colorado and Seattle, Washington ranked #2 and #3 respectively. WOW! That is really shocking.

A lot of cities in California and Florida ranked the lowest for wrinkles. I assumed all that sun wasn’t good for your skin. I guess I was wrong.

I received a couple of RoC products to try out for myself. I am actually a fan of the products and have used them in the past. In fact, I am currently using RoC Multi- Correxion 5-in-1 Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30. I have been using it daily for about a year now. I love it!

RoC Skincare has been around for over 50 years. This leading French skincare brand is considered to be a pioneer in visibly reducing the appearance of wrinkles. RoC is the first brand to stabilize and patent pure retinol in a cosmetic products, Their products are known to improve skins aesthetics, tolerance and efficacy. Their  clinically proven products are suitable for most skin types. My skin can be a bit sensitive and I have never had any issues with RoC products. My skin might be different than your skin so you’d need to try the products for yourself to see how your skin reacts. I’m only going by my personal experience.

I received to review a couple of products from the Retinol Correxion Line. Retinol is often considered the “gold standard” in anti-aging ingredients in skincare products. RoC scientists have been researching how retinol improves your skin since 1995. Retinol helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and deep wrinkles by working in balance with the skin’s natural renewal system to help improve skin tone and skin firmness.

You can find out which are the RoC® Brand retinol products by their special packaging which includes an aluminum tube that protects retinol from light and air to keep it stable.

The products I received to review are RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Daily Moisturizer and RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Serum.

Deep Wrinkle Moisturizer

Deep Wrinkle Serum

I’ve been using both products for about two weeks now. I haven’t noticed any real differences yet, but I am confident that I will. Like I mentioned earlier, I have used RoC products before (moisturizer) so I know they are quality products.

The RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Daily Moisturizer is a great daily moisturizer. It’s non-greasy (very important for me) and absorbs quickly. It leaves your skin feeling nice and soft. It doesn’t weigh it down like some moisturizers do. I don’t like to have a “heavy” feeling on my skin, which is why I wash make up off my face as soon as I get home. I don’t feel the need to do that with this moisturizer – even on non-make up days.

On the weekends I don’t wear make up (unless I am going out). All I do is wash my face in the morning and apply this moisturizer. That’s it.

I’ve been using the RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Serum twice a day – in the AM after I wash my face and before I apply make up and at night after I wash my face.

This product is also lightweight, non-greasy and absorbs quickly.

I’ve been applying it around my eyes and mouth. Those are the two areas I have the most noticeable wrinkles.

So far I have not noticed much of a difference around my mouth. Those are pretty deep wrinkles. I do think it’s “tightening” the skin (for lack of a better description) around my eyes. It’s only been two weeks so only time will tell. Of the two products I think this one might give me the most visible changes.

I’m going to continue using both products. If I remember I’ll update this post after a month or so with any noticeable results I have seen.

I am pleased with my experience thus far using the products.

RoC skincare products are available at many retail locations across the country including CVS and Target.

Transition into your fall beauty routine with great deals on your favorite products

Brrr… do you sense a bit of nip in the air? Well… at least those of us who live on the East Coast do (people out West and down South still have hot weather).

I love this time of the year. I’m more of a sweater and sweatpants person than shorts and tank tops. I rather cuddle under a fuzzy blanket on a chilly evening than crank up the AC at full blast so as not to sweat to death.

With the changing of the seasons you really should change up your beauty routine. Living in the Northeast I have to think about the warm, dry air from having the heat on and windows closed that quickly dries out my skin. I get dry all over – from my face to my toes. For that reason I have to make certain to use a good moisturizer on my face and body.

Since I won’t be outside getting much sun I also need something that can help brighten my complexion so I don’t look worn out and dull.

To help you transition into your fall beauty routine, some popular brands are going to be offering special discounts on certain weeks through October 31, 2015. Look for special displays in the beauty section where you’ll find more than 20 new and timeless fan favorites from NEUTROGENA®, AVEENO® and RoC® available at your local Target – all in one place along with special discounts during certain weeks!

I recently went to our local Target to take advantage of some of the discounts as well as to pick up some new beauty products to help me transition into the fall weather.

I’ve really been wanting to try out some RoC products. I heard good things about the brand. I was especially interested in the RoC Multi- Correxion 5-in-1 Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30. That was one of the products that I picked up. I haven’t really had a chance to try it yet (I just picked it up), but I an anxious to see how well it works.

I LOVE Aveeno products. I have been using them for years. I first started using them when I was pregnant with my now 18 1/2 year old daughter. I had REALLY dry skin during pregnancy and my doctor recommended Aveeno’s oatmeal bath. It worked wonders and helped my skin not to itch as much.

My favorite Aveeno products are the Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Daily Scrub and Daily Moisturizer. I had to get those two products.

My daughter requested some make up remover cleansing toweletts. She keeps them in her bag. She likes to use them when she freshens up her make up in between work, school and/or her social life. I like to use them too sometimes, especially when I get home from work. I like to wash my make up off right away, but sometimes I don’t have time when I get home from work because I need to get dinner started. I like using the wipes because I can get the make up off my face and it will hold me over until after dinner when I can fully wash and moisturize my face.

I picked her up some Neutrogena Make Up Remover Cleansing Wipes while at Target. I find that they work very well, even on stubborn mascara.

Cleansing Oil

Speaking of Neutrogena, if you haven’t had a chance to try their NEW Ultra Light Cleansing Oil yet, you should give it a try. Initially I was reluctant to try it because when I think “oil” I think “grease” and I didn’t want to leave my skin greasy which could cause breakouts. This oil actually rinses off great, leaving behind no greasy residue. It does a great job removing make up and leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated, unlike some other cleansers that can leave your skin feeling dry or sticky.
