We’ve all been there: a cabinet full of supplements, a morning routine that feels like a chemistry experiment, and yet… you don’t actually feel any different. It’s a frustrating truth of the wellness industry that up to 84% of traditional pill-based nutrients are never absorbed, essentially becoming ‘expensive urine.’
Enter The Absorption Company.
Founded by actors Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed, this brand isn’t just selling vitamins; they’re selling a delivery system. By using proprietary Capsoil technology to turn nutrients into water-soluble nanoparticles, they claim to offer up to 5x the absorption of your standard capsule. But does a higher price tag and celebrity backing actually equal better results for your sleep, stress, and focus? In this review, I’m going to break down the science, the taste, and whether these powders are truly the breakthrough your supplement routine has been waiting for.
In the supplement world, the biggest enemy isn’t a lack of vitamins – it’s your own digestive system. Most pills are like bulky “shipping containers” thrown into a “stormy sea” (your stomach acid); by the time they reach the “docks” (your small intestine), the container is often smashed, and the cargo is lost.
The Absorption Company uses something called “Capsoil” technology to solve this by shrinking nutrients into nanoparticles – tiny droplets so small they are essentially invisible to the naked eye. They then wrap these droplets in a water-friendly “shell,” which allows oil-based vitamins to mix perfectly into your water and slip through your digestive lining without getting stuck or filtered out by your liver.
Essentially, they’ve traded the “volume game” for a “precision game.” Instead of taking a massive dose of a standard vitamin and hoping your body catches a fraction of it, this tech ensures the nutrients are delivered in a form your cells actually recognize and can use immediately. It’s the difference between throwing a package at someone’s house from a moving car and walking it directly to their front door – you’re paying for the certainty that the “cargo” actually arrives where it’s needed.

The Absorption Company products come in small, easy to take with you, packets. They look exactly like the packets people use to flavor their water. Inside you’ll find the powder mix to add to your water.
Using the packets is easy.
Select Your Base: Pour 12 to 16 ounces of cold water into a glass or a reusable water bottle. Use 16 oz if you prefer a lighter, more refreshing taste, or 12 oz if you want a bolder flavor profile. I personally use the 16 ounce option.
Add the Packet: Tear open one single-serve stick and pour the powder into the water.
Mix Thoroughly: Shake the bottle vigorously or stir the glass well. Because of the Capsoil technology, the powder is designed to “self-emulsify,” meaning it should dissolve completely without leaving that sandy grit at the bottom of the glass.
Drink: Enjoy it immediately. They are best consumed about 30 minutes before you want the effects to kick in.
The Absorption Company sent me some products to try out for myself. The brand sent me the following.

Sleep
If you’ve spent any amount of time staring at your ceiling at 3 AM, you know that the “sleep supplement” market is a minefield of broken promises. I’ve tried them all – the chalky melatonin tablets that leave you feeling like a zombie the next morning, the heavy teas that do nothing but make you run to the bathroom at midnight, and the expensive gummies that are basically just candy.
My main issue has always been the “brain itch.” I can be physically exhausted, but the second my head hits the pillow, my brain decides it’s the perfect time to review every awkward conversation I’ve had since 2012. Most supplements I’ve tried either try to “knock me out” (leaving me groggy) or take so long to kick in that I’ve already entered a frustration spiral.
So, when I tried The Absorption Company’s “Sleep” mix, I went in with a healthy dose of skepticism.
The flavor is labeled as Chamomile Lemonade. It’s surprisingly light. It doesn’t have that artificial, syrupy sweetness of a sports drink. It’s a bit tart and slightly floral.
I use this mix with 16 ounces of cold water. Thankfully there was no gritty sludge at the bottom, which is a huge win for a powder. I hate it when I get a mouthful of undissolved mixes. I’m sure this has happened to others. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t really a fan of the taste initially, but after the 3rd time I was okay with the taste. I think it’s just something you might have to get used to, or at least that is how it was in my case.
Because this uses that “nanoparticle” tech (Capsoil), it hits differently than a pill.
I noticed a “softening” of my thoughts about 20–25 minutes after drinking it. It wasn’t a heavy, drugged feeling, more like someone turned down the volume on my internal monologue. I still end up falling asleep later than I should, but much earlier than I have been. Honestly, there are plenty of times I’m wide awake at 4:00 AM, so to actually fall asleep by 1’ish is a win (at times I’ve fallen asleep before midnight).
Since it’s melatonin-free (using things like Magnesium Glycinate and Saffron instead), there was zero “sleep hangover.” I woke up feeling like I actually slept, not like I was recovering from a sedative or a headache that I often get when I use sleep aids.
If you’re a “problem sleeper” who has developed a tolerance to melatonin or you’re tired of waking up in a fog, you might want to give this product a try. It’s one of the few sleep aids I’ve tried that helps me fall asleep without the dreaded feelings the morning after.

Energy
If you’re anything like me, your “battery” doesn’t just run low by the end of the day, it feels like it never quite charges to 100% in the first place.
My baseline is usually “tired but wired.” I lack the stamina to get through a full workday without hitting a wall, yet too much caffeine makes me jittery and anxious. I’ve tried everything from B12 shots to those giant cans of sugar-free energy drinks. The problem is always the same: a 30-minute peak followed by a long, “grumpy valley.”
When I tried The Absorption Company’s “Energy” mix, I was looking for something that didn’t feel like a frantic jolt.
The flavor is Fruit Punch, but with a “clean” twist. It’s slightly tart and has a “botanical” flavor to is. I’m not a fan of how energy drinks taste (except for one brand). I’m on the fence as to whether or not this flavor has an energy vibe to it. I wasn’t really a fan of it’s taste, even after using it a few times. Since it’s used in water I was able to chug it down quickly so as not to worry too much about the taste.
About 15 minutes after drinking it, I didn’t feel a sudden spike of energy. It was more of a gradual feeling. I think it was my focus that I noticed first. My focus seemed more sharpened and I felt more awake. Sadly my physical energy took a bit longer to kick in. .
The biggest win for me was the lack of a crash. When it wore off, it was a gentle fade. I didn’t get that pounding headache or the sudden urge to take a nap at 2:00 PM (and I LOVE taking naps, so that should say something about the product).
If you’re tired of being “tired” and caffeine usually just makes you feel worse, you might want to give Energy a try.
If you are tired of playing the “guessing game” with your health and want to stop wasting money on supplements your body never actually uses, check out The Absorption Company. By moving away from traditional pills and focusing on high-tech, water-soluble powders, they’ve created a way to actually feel your vitamins working.
Whether you need to conquer the “all-day slump” with the smooth, jitter-free lift of Energy or finally silence your racing brain with the restorative, melatonin-free magic of Sleep, these products are engineered for the precision your body deserves. It’s not just about taking more; it’s about absorbing more.
Of course everyone’s bodies are built differently so my experiences might not be the same as others. Depending on your body’s make up these products might work much better than they did for me, or slightly less. I wish the brand offered a sampler pack people could use so they can “try before the buy.”
