Just like us, our four-legged friends are always pleased as punch when provided with some snack every now and then. And what can be more pleasant for an owner than a view of a fluffy wagging tail and bright eyes radiate with joy? So here’s a couple of safe-bet recipes that your pet will appreciate.
Simplicity is key, as pets won’t mind at all how it looks, what your dog appreciates most is the taste. In your turn, you would seize every opportunity to feed your treasure with a healthy meal. So it’s a win-win situation.
What’s the point of treats?
This kind of reward is usually used for effective dog training, but, truth be told, a lot of owners could please their pets for no obvious reason. Chewable delicacies for dogs are used to clean the teeth, they help to get rid of the plaque, and eliminate the unpleasant smell. You can use purchased goodies, but it is difficult to find a quality product. Most of them contain flavor enhancers, dyes, or preservatives. Needless to say, all of them are able to cause problems with digestion, allergies (instant or accumulative). Homemade food, by contrast, is cross-examined, you add to it only what your dog eats.
Banana and Oat cookies
I presume the smell would make every mouth water. In fact, it’s fairly normal, as the ingredients used are easily available. You won’t need to buy a package of oat flour at skyrocketing prices, instead, you can grind the oats in a blender, then add one chopped banana, optionally you can add some vanilla extract, and voila, the wonderful smell across the kitchen is guaranteed. The first 15 minutes bake the treats in the oven preheated to 350 degrees, then lower the temperature till 170 degrees and bake the remaining 30 minutes.
Biscuits with chicken broth
The preparation of this appetizer will take you less than 30 minutes. Besides, you’ll need only 3 ingredients, one of them is the above-mentioned oat. Step number one is to mix up the chicken broth, one egg, and oat flakes in a big bowl. Roll a sheet with a thickness of 1.3 cm and cut cookies using a cutter. Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven to 170 degrees. After cooling, remove it into a sealed container.
Biscuits with peanut butter and flax seeds
Well-known flax seeds have a cleansing effect that is why lots of adepts of a healthy lifestyle are in the habit of adding them in every meal. The seeds contribute to the binding and removal of heavy metals from the body, withdrawing parasites and the products of their livelihoods. What more can you ask for your pooch? In a bowl, mix wheat flour, oats, and linen seed, add ½ cup of broth and peanut butter, then knead the dough. Roll the sheet and form the cookie of the desired form. Bake, periodically turning over, about 20 minutes to golden color. Ready cookies can be stored in a hermetic container for 5-7 days.
Fruit and vegetable cookies
Toying with the idea of pleasing your dog with something sweet and healthy? Fruits and vegetables are the best supplements. As a basis, take 2 glasses of whole grain flour, grind 1 large carrot to a puree state, pour 0.5 liters of water, and 1 tbsp. of oil. Slice 100-150 g. of dried apricot, if the animal is not prone to allergies, season it all with 1 tbsp. of honey. All components are mixed and baked for between 50-60 minutes.
The list is endless as long as your fantasy is on. Don’t forget to pepper every treat with a pinch of love, so that it has a unique taste.
