On November 22, 2013 the much awaited and highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster film The Hunger Games comes to theaters across the country. The sequel is entitled The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has over 50 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.
I hate to admit it but I never even saw the first film. My daughter saw it an raved about it. I even bought her a copy of the film for her birthday when it was first released. It’s even on Netflix, but I have yet to watch it. Now the sequel is coming out. I think it’s about time that I saw the first film.
My daughter also has the first book in the series. There are actually three books. The final book is called The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. I have no doubt that the third book will also be made into a film.
Here is the official trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire for your enjoyment.
It does look good. I just need to watch the first film so that I know what is going on.
I also found this clip on the official movie Youtube channel.
WOW! I really need to see the first film so I can see this film when its in theaters.

I want to read the book before I see the movie. There I said it. I have not seen the movie yet. No I haven’t been under a rock but what a good reason to want the book. I love books and like to compare them to the movie too.

Katniss is my Favorite, she is a strong character and shows girls they can be strong and use their minds. I had a date night with my BF and made him follow parachute clues around town, photos of our hunger games date are on my photo page…started out having food “themed” to hunger games such as Squirrel, ended up at a local archery learning to shoot a bow, it was so fun, he even earned a trophy lol
cant wait till the 22nd well be first in line to see the new one.

I’d love to win a copy of the book because I’ve seen the 1st movie and now before I see the 2nd movie, I want to read the book first. As my experience in the past (with other novels turned into movies), the books are more informative and better than the movie itself and I understand the movie more if I read the book first. So that’s why I want to win this book. 🙂
