I am so psyched that I was able to pick up an LG Blu-ray player for only $65 recently from Walmart.com. So many DVDs now come as DVD & Blu-ray combo packs. Blu-rays come with more “bells & whistles” then the regular DVDs. Many Blu-rays that we have contain more bonus features then DVDs.
Many years ago my husband and I took great care to get all our beloved VHS tapes on DVD, especially all of of Disney and holiday movies. We still have a few VHS tapes left, but that is only because we couldn’t find the movies or shows on DVD. These days we’re trying to pick up more movies on Blu-ray. Thankfully Blu-ray players also play DVDs so that we don’t have to purchase different players and we don’t have to purchase all our DVDs again, but on Blu-ray.
I am THRILLED that the original Christmas classics…
– Frosty the Snowman
– Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
– Santa Claus is Coming to Town
… are now on Blu-ray! They are available as a combo set too.
I love the clarity and colors of the digitally remastered classics on Blu-ray. Best of all the discs are much more sturdy then DVDs so they won’t get broken or scratched easily which means my family will enjoy these classics over and over again for many years to come – possibly with my grandchildren too! (My kids are teens, it will be a long time before I’m a Grandma. LOL).
The boxed set also includes the move Frosty Returns. Its not as good as the original Frosty but its still fun to watch.
This fantastic boxed set is also available in DVD too, so you don’t need to rush out an buy a Blu-ray player to enjoy them. We actually have Rudolph on DVD but we’re going to pass it on to my nephew so that he can enjoy it year after year like we have done for as long as I can remember.
One of my favorite features of the new boxed set is that it comes with a bonus music CD featuring the songs from the classic movies including “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” (Burl Ives), “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” (Brenda Lee), “Frosty the Snowman” (Jimmy Durante) and “A Holly Jolly Christmas” (Burl Ives) and more!
To learn more about this boxed set, the DVD boxed set or other classics that are available such as Little Drummer Boy and A Magoo Christmas Carol please visit www.ChristmasClassics.TV. You can purchase these great DVDs and Blu-rays from the site or you can find them at other retail locations such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
