I love holiday parties. I wish I had the ability to host huge parties in our home. Sadly our condo is way too small for us, let alone a dozen or so people.
I enjoy entertaining and would love to do it more often. I wish it was easy to work out schedules with friends and family to entertain more often.
You don’t need to wait for a holiday or event to host a get together with friends and loved ones. Sometimes just getting together for a few hours is all you need to not only re-connect with one another, but also to enjoy spending quality time with one another.
When you are hosting a get together there is no “rule” that says you must prepare enough food to serve and army, or keep a lot of snacks, chips and dips on hand. Sometimes a glass of wine and a little bit of chocolate is all you need to create a fabulous evening.
Are you familiar with the brand BROOKSIDE Chocolate? Chances are you have probably seen their commercials on television.
BROOKSIDE Chocolateare rich, dark chocolates with sweetened soft centers made with exotic fruit flavors. It’s chocolate like you’ve never experienced before.
My daughter is the one who introduced me to the brand. She had picked up some of their chocolate covered snacks with a fruity, soft center. My daughter loves Blueberries and saw the BROOKSIDE Chocolate Acai & Blueberry snack in the store where she works. She purchased a bag to try out. She loved it! She let me try a few pieces too and I was instantly a fan as well.
Our love of BROOKSIDE Chocolates is something that my daughter and I have in common. Whenever I buy a package I share with her, and vice versa.
Her favorite is the Chocolate Covered Acai & Blueberry snack. I personally like the sweetness of the Dark Chocolate Pomegranate Flavor.
Dark chocolate and sweet fruity flavors – they pair perfectly together. Something else that plans perfectly together is chocolate and wine.
To be honest with you, when ever I serve wine to guests I usually pair it when cheese and crackers, or a decadent dessert like cheesecake. I would never think to pair wine with chocolates. Now that I’ve tried the pairing I can see why chocolate and wine go perfectly together. The flavors go so well together.
I was sent to review some BROOKSIDE Chocolates and some lovely wines from Clos du Bois. I have never heard of the brand until I received their wines. They are wonderful!
Clos du Bois began with a vision of blending fine French wine making techniques with the best Sonoma grapes to craft a range of balanced, approachable wines. Year after year, their wines have been appreciated by both wine critics and wine lovers alike.
Clos du Bois wine is very flavorful. It’s rich in flavor, which is why their pair so well with the decadent BROOKSIDE Chocolates.
As I mentioned before, I would have never thought to pair wine and chocolate together – until now.
Here are some pairing recommendations you might want to try for yourself.
- Clos du Bois Pinot Noir and BROOKSIDE Dark Chocolate Pomegranate Flavor (hero pairing)
- Clos du Bois Rouge and BROOKSIDE Dark Chocolate Crunchy Clusters Berry Medley Flavors
- Clos du Bois Merlot and BROOKSIDE Dark Chocolate Acai & Blueberry Flavors
- Clos du Bois Cabernet Sauvignon and BROOKSIDE dark Chocolate Goji & Raspberry Flavors
I like how the flavor of the chocolate from the BROOKSIDE Chocolate adds to the rich, fruity flavor of the wine. You don’t need a lot of chocolate either. Just a few pieces of BROOKSIDE Chocolates with a sip of Clos du Bois wine creates a truly amazing flavor experience.
I hosted a small get together with two of my friends. Instead of serving my usual coffee and/or tea and cake, I offered the ladies a glass of Clos du Bois wine along side two bowls of BROOKSIDE Chocolate. The both said it was a nice change of pace from the usual fare. And you know how us ladies love our chocolate. LOL!
We had a great time and there was no one piece of BROOKSIDE Chocolate left at the end of the evening. My daughter was disappointed that I didn’t save her any, so I owe her a package of BROOKSIDE Chocolate.
This holiday season, instead of the ordinary things you would serve to guest, try sometimes extraordinary by serving your guests a savory glass of Clos du Bois wine with a side of BROOKSIDE Chocolate. I guarantee they will thank you for the delicious experience.
