Now available from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is the sci-fi thriller, Companion. The film is available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD and digital.
Companion stars Sophia Thatcher, Jack Quaid, Megan Suri, Lukas Gage and Harvey Guillén.
Iris (Thatcher) and Josh (Quaid) seem to have an ideal relationship. Iris wasn’t necessarily looking for love, but she had a funny meet cute with Josh. She knew it was love from the start, and she knew there was nothing she wouldn’t do for him.
Iris and Josh make plans to spend some time at a very secluded mansion with his friends Kat (Suri), Eli (Guillén) and Eli’s boyfriend Patrick (Gage). The home belongs to a wealthy Russian business man who “has his hands in many things), played by Rupert Friend.
Iris is not sure if she really fits in, especially because Kat is not very keen on Iris. Iris also suspects something is going on between Josh and Kat.
What started out as a peaceful weekend with friends turns into a murder – and then some. Iris is blamed for the murder, but how guilty is she really and who put her up to it, unbeknown to her. To find out, check out the film Companion. Look for it where ever you rent and/or purchase movies.
I knew I wanted to see this film the first time I saw the trailer. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but Iris is not what she seems. If you watch the trailer (below) you’ll see what I mean.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect with this film, I just knew there were some crazy looking scenes based on the trailer. I was surprised at just how many twists and turns this film had – in a good way of course.
I think Ms. Thatcher did an excellent job in the role of Iris. She did a very convincing job of as the sweet and innocent Iris. The way she had this 1950’s look about her (hair, make up and clothing) added a touch of both uniqueness and weirdness to her character too. When her eyes turn all white – creepy!
I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve see Mr. Guillén in. He always adds a touch of humor in all the roles I’ve seen him in, and this film is no exception. I was actually surprised in this film that he also had a touch of evilness mixed in.
I found this film to be very entertaining from start to finish. It even kept my husband’s attention, which tells me a lot because often he’s looking at his phone throughout movies. My husband and I don’t often enjoy the same movies. He’s more into comedies while I enjoy sci-fi and horror films.
I’m not sure where this movie was filmed, but the secluded nature of the homestead only added to the story. I also think the home in the film is located in the most beautiful location, and I would love to wake up to those views every day.
Some films are very predictable. I didn’t find that to be the case with this film at all. I never expected the shifts in the storyline, especially concerning the character of Patrick.
There is some bonus content available with this title too.
