A-Hoy Mates! The funny, animated adventure film, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, is now available for rent and on digital at places such as MoviesAnywhere, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and more. The film will be available on Blu-ray and DVD March 31, 2026.

Sadly, I was not able to see the film in theaters, however I am looking forward to seeing it soon. My family and I have seen all the SpongeBob SquarePants movies. We’ve also been watching the television show since it first aired.

Here is the official synopsis for this film;

SpongeBob and his Bikini Bottom friends set sail on their biggest adventure yet! When an attempt to prove he’s a true big guy accidentally summons the fearsome ghost pirate The Flying Dutchman, SpongeBob and Patrick are swept into a wild underworld quest. With colossal challenges ahead and a rescue crew on their trail, SpongeBob discovers that real courage shines brightest when friends face the unknown together. The Digital release includes over 20 minutes of bonus content!
