Do you love to craft? Is crafting your “happy place?” Do you craft with your children?
I love to craft. Sadly, I don’t have much physical space to house many crafting supplies. The same applies to the craft cabinet at work. I work with children, so our craft cabinet is overflowing with buttons, beads, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, various colored papers and more… much more.
There are certain supplies that every craft needs, whether you are a diehard crafter or an occasional crafter. Such supplies include a great pair of scissors, precision tools, cutting mat, great storage and safety gear. Of course there are more, but those examples are what popped into my head.
Another “must have” product crafts need is a hot glue gun. A hot glue gun is often a better option that traditional glue, most especially for projects requiring fast, strong, and versatile adhesion. Hot glue sets in mere seconds unlike regular craft glue which can take hours, even an entire day. Hot glue also can fill in gaps on uneven surfaces, and bond to a wide range of materials, including plastics, metal, and fabric, without needing to clamp the items.
Hot glue guns are great, but they can also be your nemesis. Between those annoying “spider web” strings, the accidental finger burns, globs of glue coming out at hone time, and the constant battle with a cord that’s always just an inch too short, it’s a love-hate relationship.

I was recently sent to review the Surebonder Lynn Lilly Edition Cordless/Corded Detail Tip Mini Glue Gun, specifically the bundled kit that contains a variety of glue sticks.
Craft maven, designer and on-air personality, Lynn Lilly teamed up with Surebonder®, to create a one of a kind must-have cordless, detail point glue gun. The partnership aims to introduce their new CL-195F cordless, mini detail point, high temperature glue gun in a fun and bright color palette making it a dependable must-have crafting tool for beginner and expert crafters alike! The Lynn Lilly by Surebonder® glue gun stands out among Surebonder®’s traditional line of black and green glue guns with a vibrant turquoise body and bright pink accents.
I love the pretty color this glue gun has. It stands out too, but in a nice way.
I am not familiar with Lynn Lilly, so I looked her up. She has a lot of delightful goodies on her website.

The first thing you’ll notice is the extended detail tip the Lynn Lilly edition glue gun has. Unlike the blunt nozzles on those $5 craft store guns, this one looks more like a pen nib.
I tested this out on a variety of materials to see how well the precision tip worked. The control is incredible. Because this is a high-temp glue gun, the glue flows smoothly. It’s narrow tip means you can place a tiny dot exactly where you need it. If you do a lot of jewelry making or intricate holiday decor, this feature alone makes the Surebonder Lynn Lilly edition a total game-changer.
I tend to be a bit clumsy, so I knock things over and break things frequently (much to my dismay). Having this too handy means I can fix even the tiniest thing. Most recently I used it to glue a tiny Jimny Cricket to a Pinocchio Funko Pop that I own and dropped while cleaning. I would have tired super glue, but honestly I HATE using super glue. It always drips and I end up gluing my fingers together (that’s no exaggeration).
On the Surebonder website the Lynn Lilly edition glue gun is listed at “cordless/corded.” The term “cordless” can be a bit misleading in the tool world, so here’s how it actually works in your hand.

This isn’t a battery-operated unit that stays hot for an hour. It’s a cordless/corded hybrid. You let it heat up on the base, and then you can pull it off for about 2 minutes of freedom.
- Cordless Mode: You plug the power cord into the charging stand. The gun heats up while docked. You can then remove the gun to glue freely for about 2 to 3 minutes before the internal heating element cools down and needs to be redocked.
- Corded Mode: For heavy-duty projects, you can remove the cord from the base and plug it directly into the handle. This provides continuous power for long crafting sessions.
It’s the best of both worlds, though you do have to be quick when you’re working “unplugged.”
Other great features about this special glue gun.
I love the integrated drip pad that is is attached to the base. It’s a little silicone pad that catches any drips when the glue gun is resting. Once they are cool you can easily peel them off. No more ruined or burnt counter tops or tabletops.
The drip pad also fold into the base when not in use and when you want to store it away.

This glue gun also has “safety fins” so when you set the gun down on your table instead of the base, the “fins” on the side keep the hot tip elevated.
Overall I think this is a wonderful glue gun. The precision tip alone makes it well worth it. I also appreciate the corded/cordless option. If I only need to make a minor repair on something I don’t want to have to take the item to the glue gun. With this gun I can take the glue gun to the object.
The bundled set comes with a fabulous variety of glues. My favorite are the glitter glues. I am trying to think of a fun project I can do with my “work kids” using those glues.
Also included are non-glitter colored glue sticks, long glue sticks and fabric glue sticks. I didn’t know there was such a thing as fabric one so I cam excited to see how I can put that glue to good use.
If you’re a detail-oriented crafter who hates the mess of standard glue guns, the Surebonder Lynn Lilly Mini Glue Gun is a fantastic investment. It’s a professional-grade tool that actually looks like it belongs in a modern craft room.
