I’ve been a long time fan of the Transformers movie franchise. I have seen every movie to date, although I wait until the movie is available for purchase before I watch it. Transformers movies tend to be long and I prefer to watch long movies in the comfort of my own home.
The latest addition to the movie franchise, Transformers: The Last Knight, is now available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download.
The movie starts off with King Arthur and his knights battling against the Saxons. They need all the help they can get because they are hugely outnumbered. The knights want to give up and fight another day, but King Arthur is holding out until the wizard Merlin shows up.
Merlin discovered ancient transformers that landed on Earth. He told them he would keep their secret if they can help him to help King Arthur defeat the Saxons. The help them win, the ancient transformer gives Merlin a staff with magical powers. He also forewarns Merlin that the staff will eventually lead to the destruction of life on Earth. Because of that threat, the staff is kept hidden for generations to come.
Fast forward to today. ALL transformers are outlawed on Earth, even though new aliens keep landing on our planet. There is even a special Transformer Reaction Force (TRF) that was created to destroy any and all transformers/aliens on the planet.
The TRF is also on the hunt for Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), who they know is still working with the transformers.
Yeager is living “under the radar” at a junk yard with a few remaining transformers, including Bumble Bee. They are trying to hide from the TRF, as well as to look for Optimum Prime.
Optimum Prime is back on his home planet (where he was created) called Cybertron. There he meets Princess Quintessa – the creator of the transformers.
Their planet (Cybertron) is dying. To remedy this they are going to take over Earth and suck it dry of all it’s resources. That way Cybertron will be rebuilt and Earth will die.
Unbeknown to Yeager, a man named Sir Edmund Burton knows all about the transformers and how to stop Cybertron from destroying the Earth. What he needs from Yeager is a talisman that was given to him by a dying transformer. He also needs the help of a young woman named Viviane Wembly. Together they have the ability to destroy Cybertron, but first they need to find the missing staff that was once in the posession of Merlin.
The clock is ticking. Earth is a mere hours away from being destroyed. Can Yeager, Viviane and what remains of the transformers find the staff before the evil Megatron and his gang find it?
To find you you need to pick up (or download) a copy of Transformers: The Last Knight. Look for it where ever movies are sold.
I have seen all of the Transformers movies to date and I can honestly say that this is probably my favorite out of all of them. It had it all – action, humor, amazing special effects and a terrific story line.
It was nice to see some familiar faces in this film (Mark Wahlber, Josh Duhamel) as well as some new faces, like Sir Anthony Hopkins.
There are a lot of funny scenes in this film. I was surprised by how much humor this film had on top of all the edge of your seat excitement and action.
This film is JAM PACKED with amazing special effects. I’m amazed at how realistic filmmakers can make the robots/Transformers look as well as other thing like the planet of Cybertron.
There was something at the end of the film that talks about deep, dark secrets that lie within Earth. I wonder if that is a hint that there will be another Transformers movie? I’m all for that if there is.
There are so many bonus features that they got their own Blu-ray disc (I have the Blu-ray, DVD & Digital Download versions of the film). Even the digital download version of the film comes with a separate download for just the bonus features.
Normally I watch the bonus feature, but I didn’t have have a chance to watch the bonus features for this film – YET! I fully intend on checking them out next weekend.
For more information about the film you can visit the official movie website. You can also follow the film on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. The movie is available for purchase (download) on iTunes and Amazon, as well as other locations.
Below is the films trailer for your enjoyment. PLEASE NOTE this is the theaterical trailer. The film is now available for home viewing.
