Now available for the first time on 4K UHD are two iconic films by M. Night Shyamalan films, The Sixth Sense and Signs. There will also be a special addition bundle available exclusively at digital retailers which includes The Sixth Sense, Signs and Unbreakable.
This year is the 25th anniversary of The Sixth Sense. Oh how I feel old!
If you are not familiar with 4K UHD, it is a high resolution display that is sharper giving viewers more detailed images, smoother lines and improved clarity. I’m not sure if it works on all televisions, but most of today’s televisions are equipped for 4K UHD viewing.
I have not seen The Sixth Sense in many years. Originally I was going to watch Signs, since I’ve never seen that film before, but I ended up watching The Sixth Sense first. Initially I only put the movie on to check out the 4K UHD look, but I ended up watching the whole film. I didn’t mind at all. I love this film. All those nights my family couldn’t think of something to watch, I never thought about renting this film. Now I own it on 4K UHD.
In case you never saw the film before, The Sixth Sense stars Bruce Willis, Haley Joel Osment and Toni Collette.
The film was written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan and was an Oscar®-nominee for Best Original Screenplay and Best Director. Some critics call this film one of the greatest ghost stories
ever filmed.
Bruce Willis stars as Dr. Malcolm Crowe. His newest client, Cole, is a little boy who is terrified by things that he sees. He utters one of the greatest lines in movie history, “I see dead people.”
Cole has a special sixth sense which allows him to see ghosts all around him. As a child, all ghosts are terrifying, even if they do not present themselves that way.
Is there anything Dr. Crowe can do to help him? To find out, you need to check out the movie.
I will say that the ending of this film BLEW MY MIND. I won’t give it away, but let’s just say I never saw it coming.
I did watch Signs too. Signs stars Mel Gibson, Joaquin Phoenix and Rory Culkin. It was also written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
Mel Gibson stars as a widower who lives on a rural farm with his two children and brother.
Crop circles begin to appear on his farm and he soon learns that they have been appearing all over the world.
When an alien is spotted in the film the family learns that there is an alien invasion.
Can he keep his family alive? You’ll have to check out the film to find out.
Movie “magic” has come a long way since this film was first released back in 2002. The aliens are not scary, or “high tech” (if that makes sense) compared to what you see in today’s films, but that’s okay. The story it’s self makes up for it. It’s a good story and I don’t know why I waited so long to see this film. It’s an M. Night Shyamalan movie, so it’s going to be “weird” and have it’s creepy moments.
I wouldn’t say this is a horror movie. It’s more of a sci-fi thriller.
The kids in this film did an amazing job. Abigail Breslin is so young in Signs. She was only six when the film came out, so she had to be a good part of only five years old when she made this film.
If you are tired of watching repeats, check out these films, now available in amazing 4K UHD. Check them out on Movies Anywhere, Fandango at Home (formerly Vudu) and other digital retailers.
The 4K UHD Blu-ray will be available at retailers on October 22, 2024.
Did you see either of these films? What did you think about them? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts. I always love to hear from readers.
I’m including both movie trailers (below) for your enjoyment.
