Your mom is someone very special to you (hopefully that is the case). Your mom doesn’t even need to be the person who gave birth to you to be someone near and dear to your heart. In my case, it was my paternal grandmother who was the only mom I had. My biological mother abandoned me as a toddler while my biological father was stationed overseas in the army. My paternal grandparents stepped in to care for me. By the time my father returned home to the United States, I was already called my grandparents “mom” and “dad.”
I consider myself as having one mom (my paternal grandmother), a dad (my paternal grandfather) and a father (my biosocial father). I have plenty of more interesting backstories about my life, but I’ll save those for another day.
My mom (grandmother) was very special to me. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss her. With Mother’s Day coming up, I find myself thinking about her even more so than I normally do. I wish I could tell her “Happy Mother’s Day” one more time, and give her a special gift.
When it came to buying gifts for my mom, I always tried to find something truly special to give her. Sure, there were times I opted for the classic standbys like candles, candy and flowers, but that was only when I was at a loss as to what else I could get her.
I did buy my mom jewelry often. I always looked for something special for her.
I wish there were places like The Vintage Pearl around when my mom was still alive. They have the most beautiful handcrafted jewelry, some of which can be personalized. My mom would have gone crazy over a necklace with all the grandchildren’s names on it, or a ring with each of the grandchildren’s birthstones on it.
If you are still at a loss as to what to gift that special lady in your life, whether it’s your mom, grandmother, aunt or wife, The Vintage Pearl has several beautiful pieces of jewelry that are ready to ship (personalized jewelry not included).
Check out these lovely pieces.
The above two are examples of mother/daughter necklaces. I would love to give one of these to my daughter for her birthday, which is coming up in a month.
My mom is in heaven. She passed away nearly 18 years ago. I also lost my brother and cousin (who was like a brother to me) a few years ago. I saw this necklace on The Vintage Pearl site that I want to get as well, because there are pieces of my heart in heaven (including my dad).
If you wanted to gift that special woman something a bit more personalized, The Vintage Pearl has gorgeous jewelry that can be personalized with the person’s name, their child’s name (or children’s names) and even couple’s names.
I have a lot of jewelry, but to be honest with you, I don’t want most of it. I have about a half dozen pieces I wear often. Those pieces are special to me. One is a locket with my husband and children’s pictures inside. Another one is a ring that belonged to my mom. I even have a little of my brother’s ashes in another necklace (you can get tiny urn necklaces, believe it or not). If a piece of jewelry is personalized to “me,” that makes it more special and I am more likely to wear it more often than generic looking pieces.
Here are a few examples.
I received to review the same necklace, pictured directly above this text.
I would show you my necklace, but it features my husband and our children’s names. As a rule, for privacy and safety reasons, I have never, ever written the names of my husband or children on my site (or on social media). Sorry.
I can tell you that this is a really nice size piece. The “disc” the names are written are is a decent size. It’s slightly larger than a quarter.
The names are written perfectly across the bottom so that you can see them around the heart.
I picked the one with the bronze heart. I wanted it to stand out a bit from the “disc.”
The pearl is a nice size too. It’s about the size of a pea. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the pearl.
I opted for the ball chain. I just happen to like that style. I also chose to have mine 20″ because I have a thick neck. It’s a good size for me.
Not that it bothers me (it honestly doesn’t), but this necklace makes a “jingle” sound when the heart and pearl bump into the “disc.” You don’t hear it unless you happen to move in a way that make the necklace move, such as bending over or lying down and getting back up. Again, it doesn’t bother me at all. I just thought I’d point that out.
Over all I love this necklace. I have already worn it many times and I’ve receive nice compliments on it, including people asking me where I got it from.
I have been showing you a lot of necklaces. Please note that The Vintage Pearl has rings, bracelets and earrings too.
What I really like about The Vintage Pearl is that in most cases they give you, the consumer, the option to control the look of many of the pieces. Take for example the personalized necklaces. You can choose the length of the chain, the font style, charm style, finish and other options (the options vary with each piece).
I have a thick neck, and I can’t wear necklaces that are 16″ – 18″ in length. Sadly, many times necklaces are only available in those lengths. With The Vintage Pearl, I have seen options up to 30″ (varies with each necklace). Twenty inches is a good length for me, but I appreciate knowing that some necklaces are available in up to 30″.
Even if you don’t have time to order something for Mother’s Day, you should keep The Vintage Pearl in mind for other occasions such as birthdays, Christmas, “push gifts,” new moms and more.
If you would like to check out all that they have to offer, visit them at TheVintagePearl.com. The brand can also be found on social media. Those links are found on the bottom right of their website.
What do you think about this beautiful jewelry? Would you love to receive this as a gift (or give it as a gift)? Do you see a piece that you really love? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts. I always love to hear from readers.
