Do you read the ingredients for the products you put in or on your body? Over the years I have been more of a label reader. I’m shocked at just how many chemicals and unpronounceable ingredients there are in the every day products that me and my family use. I get that some ingredients might be vital to a product, but must companies add so many extras, especially artificial colors, flavor and scents? Did products made 100 years ago contain so much artificial stuff? I doubt it.

If you are like me and like to be aware of what you are putting in or on your body, let me introduce you to a mom-founded brand that offers skincare essentials like deodorants, facial care, natural remedies, essential oils and more. Rosewater Mist

Ooooh… this feels nice. It’s a great little “pick me up too.”

The directions say to spray this on your face after you cleaned it and before you add your moisturizer. You can also use this as a toner (spray on a cotton pad/ball) or spray it on your face throughout the day.

I have been using this in the morning and at night after I wash my face.

I’m not sure what exactly it’s doing, but I feel like the products I use afterwards (serum, moisturizer) are almost “boosted” because of this. It’s like this product “super chargers” them, if that makes any sense.

I have also been using this occasionally during the day because it’s refreshing and I feel like it wakes me up. I bet this will feel even nicer in the hot and humid weather (I wonder if this could be kept in the fridge?).

I like that it’s giving my skin extra hyaluronic acid. I’m still not sure what hyaluronic acid does to your skin, but I keep seeing things on the internet and on televisions highlighting that, so I am assuming it’s something that your skin really needs.

It has a pleasant, subtle fragrance too.

Sea Buckhorn Facial Cream

This product works much better than the moisturizer I normally use. I normally use a water based moisturizer because I felt like it absorbed quickly and didn’t leave any heaviness on my skin. This cream is A LOT better than what I was using.

The winter tends to dry out my skin (starting with my lips and hands, but my face can get dry too). My skin feels wonderfully hydrated with this product.

It doesn’t leave any heaviness or stickiness on my skin. It absorbs quickly too.

It’s funny that this product contains omega fatty acids. My eye doctor has me taking an omega supplement because he said it would help with my chronic dry eyes. I know omegas are good for you, but I always thought more so for your heart. I didn’t know it could be good ON your skin too.

I cannot comment on the collagen aspect because I feel like I have not been using it long enough, but my regular products don’t help with collagen. I take biotin to help with my hair and nails, and from what I know that can help with collagen too. But I like the idea of applying a product directly to my skin to help with collagen instead of relying solely on taking a supplement. I’m getting older… anything that can help me hold off the effects of aging on my skin I’m all for.

This supposedly has a light citrus scent, but honestly, I don’t really smell anything.

Rescue Balm

I have used this a few times. Thankfully I haven’t had too many “boo boos” to use this on, but I have used it on…

• Nasty paper cut
• “Split” on the side of my finger nail (skin)
• Dry, itchy patch of skin on my face from eczema that wouldn’t go away

This is made with oils (see the ingredients on the brand’s website), which I believe is the reason why it helped to clear up that dry, itchy patch of “left over” eczema. I suffer from eczema from time to time, and I had this patch new my eye that just wouldn’t heal and go away. Other spots did, but that one spot wouldn’t. After I started to use this it finally cleared up in a few days. THANKFULLY!

This helped the “split” on the side of my finger heal quickly too. I hate it when my hands get so dry that my skin splits.

My cat accidently scratched me (he was running and meant to jump over me but his back paw hit my elbow). This helped to now only take the “sting” away.

Lip Balm (Immunity)

It’s winter, and here in New York the weather has been extra cold. Between the cold air and the heat blasting in my car (and at home), my lips, as well as my hands, are the first things to dry out. My lips especially get chapped and crack. It can get painful depending on where the crack is (the ones in the corner of the mouth are the worse).

I have been using this lip balm for a few weeks, applying it as needed. I also apply it before I step outside, and before going to bed at night. So far, so good. My lips are not dry or cracked.

I was worried the oils in this lip balm would leave a greasy feeling on my lips, or take forever to absorb, but that has not been the case. My lips don’t feel greasy. In fact, they feel soft.

My regular lip balm has almost a wax-like feel to it, and it seems to wear off quickly. This feels a lot more natural on my lips and keeps my lips feeling hydrated.
