Maisey Boo
I am a “crazy cat lady.” Well, I guess you should say we’re a crazy cat family because we currently own four adult cats and two kittens. We recently adopted our kitten Maisey Boo two and a half months ago. We just adopted a new (yet to be named) kitten last night. The foster parent called him Oliver, but we’re not sure if we want to stick with that name or not.
We also have a ginormous Goldfish named Fishy.
I have always been an animal lover. I grew up around dogs, cats, birds, fish and even a horse. I cannot image my life without a pet. They are a huge part of my life, and I love and care for them as part of our family – because they are!
I want only the best for our cats. We treat them well (we spoil them like crazy!), and take good care of them both mentally and physically. We also show them a lot of love and affection.
One of our kittens (Maisey Boo) is the daughter of a feral cat, and could be considered a feral herself, except a kind soul took him her and her siblings, as well as their mom. So they never had to experience the harsh reality that all abandoned pets feel, and those who were born “in the wild.”

“Oliver”
As for “Oliver,” he was born to an indoor cat, but the family who originally had him didn’t exactly live in a good home (I am assuming it was filthy and/or they lived in squalor, based on the impressions I get from the foster mom).
In both scenarios, the kittens probably didn’t get the best start, nutritionally speaking. Thankfully I have vitamins and supplements for them from Standard Process. The brand is known for their HUMAN vitamins and supplements, but they also have vitamins and supplements for dogs, cats and horses.
According to the brand;
We create high-quality nutritional support for your dogs, cats, and horses all with the same purity, safety, manufacturing, and quality standards used for our Standard Process human supplements. Our mission is to change the lives of families and their animals with targeted, whole food-based nutritional support. Our veterinary supplements empower health care professionals and pet owners to care for their animals in the same way they care for themselves. We believe that, given the proper nutrition, we have the amazing capability to impact our pets’ health.
Standard Process sent me some products to try out with Maisey Boo (since we had her longer than “Oliver,” who just joined our family less than a day ago at the time I am writing this).
Standard Process has products for Feline Renal Support, Feline Cardiac Support, Feline Immune Support, Feline Whole Body Support, just to name a few. They even have hemp oil products for cats.
The brand sent me their Wellness Kit for Kittens.
These kits were created to help veterinarians and pet owners enhance nutrition for young dogs and cats.
“For puppies and kittens, the early days are a critical development time,” said Jody Griffiths, CVT and Veterinary Support Technician at Standard Process. “This is our 20th year of helping veterinarians support their patients, so we know the importance of building a strong nutritional foundation.”
Along with a free gift, the Puppy Pack and Kitten Kit include animal-specific versions of two Standard Process products that were created to deliver complex nutrients that might not be adequately consumed through a typical diet alone.
The free gift that came in the kitten kit was an adorable “Beet” toy, as pictured above. It’s somewhere in our home. I haven’t seen it in a while. No doubt it’s under the couch or fridge.
These are the products that came in the kit I received (same as pictured above).
We tried these tablets with Maisey Boo, but she wasn’t having it. Even when we crushed them up and mixed them with food, she knew they were there. However, two of our other cats, who are three and four years old, they had no problem gobbling up the tablets. Since they are okay for them to have as well, we were okay with letting them have the tablets. We’re just sad that Maisey Boo wouldn’t eat them, since she’s still a baby and could use the extra nutritional support.
We haven’t tried these with “Oliver” yet. We just got him last night, so we’re just trying to get him acclimated with everyone and everything. Once we know how he is, we’ll try introducing these immune support products to him. Seeing as how he gobbles up any food you put in front of him, I honestly don’t think he’d have a problem with these tablets. Maisey Boo just happens to be a very picky eater (and she doesn’t eat much).
Be sure to check with your vet if you have any concerns about things your pet should, or should not be taking, just to be on the safe side (I mean this mostly towards pets with pre-existing conditions).
Whether you’re looking to discover the effects of hemp extract for yourself or searching for a trusted friend, Brown’s CBD has something for everyone!
People take vitamins and supplements to support their overall health and well being, why shouldn’t pets?
