Do you blow dry your hair? I do, when the mood strikes me. My hair is course, and it used to be thick (not as much these days, sadly). Some days I let my hair air dry, and other days to blow dry it. It all depends on how much time I need to get ready for work (or wherever I am going) and if I’m feeling lazy or not (air drying is the lazy route, of course).
My daughter goes all out to do her hair. She puts it up in a towel to get most of the water out of her hair, then she blow dries it, curls it or flat irons it. Ah youth…
My daughter has told me for some time now that I shouldn’t wrap my hair in an ordinary bath towel, because it’s not good for your hair. For that reason she uses old cotton t-shirts of my husband’s to wrap her hair in.
I honestly thought she was just trying out the latest Tik Tok trend, but I ended up Googling it for myself and learned that using regular bath towels can be harmful for your hair. No kidding! Google it for yourself.
So I ended up using my own old cotton t-shirts to wrap my hair in so that it can remove a lot of the excess water before I blow dried my hair, or let it air dry. However, trying to tuck in a shirt is not that easy. It always came lose. The same happened with towels. I’d roll it and tuck it nicely in the back of my hair, then I’d go to turn my hair and it would all come un-done. Talk about frustrating.
Recently I learned about the brand VOLO. They have a towel for your hair (and other towels too) that it not only better for your hair, but it will stay in place (finally!). It’s called the VOLO Hero Hair Towel.
According to the brand;
Introducing the softest towel your hair has ever met. The Hero’s Nanoweave™ material is plush—aka extremely gentle and absorbent—which is just how we like our towels. The Hero decreases dry time by 50%, and our snug strap ensures your towel stays tucked into place. It’s as easy as wrap, twist, and tuck. Not all heroes wear capes.
The brand sent me one to review.
WOW! This towel is SO SOFT! It’s super plush and dare I say snuggly? I wish they made a blanket out of this material. I would buy one in a heartbeat.
The VOLO Hero Hair Towel is available in different colors, and measures 39.4 x 23.5 inches.
This lush, heavenly soft towel wraps your hair in super soft comfort. The material helps to dry your hair quicker than a traditional towel (or even a cotton t-shirt). It cuts down drying time.
Honestly, I was skeptical at first, but it’s true! When I remove the towel, my hair has noticeable less water in it than with an other towel or cotton t-shirt.
Normally I wrap my hair in a towel to help dry it AND to keep it out of my face so I can do my beauty routine and make up. There is nothing worse than getting your hair in your face when putting on beauty products and/or make up.
After I remove the VOLO Hero Hair Towel I either blow dry my hair or let it air dry the rest of the way (my hair has a natural wave to it, and air drying brings it out).
And added bonus with this special hair towel is that there is a strap in the back of it where you insert the towel end. It keeps the towel snug and in place. Yeah! FINALLY I can move my head around without the towel coming undone and falling off.
Here I am (without make up too!) wearing my VOLO Hero Hair Towel. I intentionally pull mine back to expose where my bang hair is because I blow dry my bangs (I don’t let those air dry or they look crazy!). By pushing the towel back, I am better able to retrieve my bang hair with my comb, instead of blow drying non-bang hair (if that makes sense?).
VOLO not only “gets” hair, but also wants to provide consumers with a better way of doing their hair. That is evident in their VOLO Hero Hair Towel, and their CORDLESS hair dryer.
Yes… I said CORDLESS! Talk about a game changer! WHY hasn’t anyone thought of that sooner?
I also received to review from VOLO their VOLO Go Cordless Dryer.
The VOLO Go is a salon quality hair dryer that can go anywhere you do. It’s three times as energy-efficient as a traditional blow dryer thanks to the industry’s most innovative infrared heat technology. And if that wasn’t exciting enough, the VOLO Go’s infrared heat is also extremely gentle on the hair, drying quickly and efficiently by penetrating each strand of your hair with radiant heat to dry from the inside out.
Okay… there is so much to talk about with the hair dryer. This is the ROLLS ROYCE of hair dryers!
You wouldn’t think that you could improve upon hair dryers. After all, they just dry hair. Some dry hair and curl it, and some dryers can help straighten your hair as it dries it. But none of these compared to THIS hair dryer.
I was SHOCKED when I opened up the box to find a tote bag (and a very nice one at that). Inside is the VOLO Go Cordless Dryer and accessories. Everything is neatly kept inside the tote bag. I don’t think you are required to use the tote bag, but I like keeping this dryer safe and sound. I don’t want it being bumped around inside the bathroom closet.
Each section houses a specific part of the dryer (or accessories).
This dryer has three components – the battery and the dryer it’s self. There is also a “head” piece you can use to direct the heat to more specific areas of your hair.
You can charge this hair dryer in any outlet. You will need one of those charging blocks to stick the charging cord into. I’m surprised it didn’t come with one. Thankfully the cord works with my iPhone charging block.
I don’t know how long it took to fully charge this hair dryer. I would say just a few hours.
This hair dryer is a beauty and very easy to use. It has three different options for use.
- CONTROLS: The VOLO Go has 3 simple button controls. The snowflake on the left activates the Cool Shot feature. The On/Off is easily found in the middle. On the right is the control for our Smart Mode setting, which adjusts the heat to when you need it during your drying process, and saves battery life.
- SMART MODE: The VOLO GO uses a new, patent-pending technology that extends the battery life of the hair dryer while optimally delivering heat. The dryer modulates the heat output as your hair dries to eliminate excess heat exposure.
- COOL SHOT: After you are done drying, a cool shot allows you to smooth your locks to perfection and seal the cuticle of your hair and cut down on frizz.
I LOVE the cool shot! My hair dresser always tells me to use the cool function on my hair dryer to lock things in place and to smooth the cuticle. She says the same thing about when I wash my hair – that I should always do a final cool rinse.
It really does feel cool too! With my other dryer, the cool function is just like room temperature (for lack of a better way of describing it). It’s not cool at all. THIS dryer’s cool shot IS cool.
Even if I don’t blow dry my hair, I have been using the cool shot feature to run through my hair when I let it air dry, by scrunching my hair and using the cool shot at the same time. I think it makes my waves look more smoother and less frizzy. I also think it’s responsible for helping my hair be less staticky (I seem to have a lot of static lately).
I also appreciate that VOLO put that setting in place to make sure you don’t over dry your hair. Too much heat is damaging to your hair. This dryer ensures that you don’t “over cook” your hair by decreasing the heat over time.
Unlike traditional hair dyers, the VOLO Go Cordless Dryer uses infrared technology, and not heated coils. Heated coils heat your hair from the outside in, meaning that by the time the hair strand is fully dry (inside and out), the outside of the strand has already been over exposed to too much heat, which ultimately leads to heat damange.
Take a look at the dryer you currently use. Turn it on and look at the end where the air comes out. You’ll see that it contains metal coils that heat up and turn red in order to blast hot air out at your hair. Looking at it reminds me of a toaster. Have you looked at toaster coils? They look the same way.
The infrared technology used the VOLO Go Cordless Dryer heats your hair from the inside out. It’s crazy to think of it that way. Going from the inside out ensures that the outer portion of the hair strands do not get heat damage.
Technology… you got to love it.
This is why I consider this dryer the Rolls Royce of hair dryers. There is no comparing to this air dryer.
I didn’t take a picture of it (I forgot to), but the charging base for this dryer doesn’t take up much space on your counter (you can also put it away – that is what I do since we don’t have any counter space in the bathroom). It has a small area on it where you can place your jewelry (instead of risking your jewelry on the counter and being knocked into the sink – I’ve done that before!). You can also charge you smartphone directly on this base too. VOLO thought of everything. The base is in the photo (below). The dryer piece is on the left, and the battery portion/handle is on the right.
The battery/handle and head (dryer) piece snap together easily.
Let’s talk about one of it’s best features – cordless! There is nothing I hate worse than cords everywhere! When me and my daughter are both getting together at the same time it’s even WORSE between her hair dryer, curler and/or straightener, and my dryer and/or curler. Our bathroom sink doesn’t have a counter top, so the cords are every where. Not to mention they always get tangled. I always wrap my cords up, but her hair appliances are often a mangled mess due to the cords (she DOESN’T wrap them up).
Being cordless means you can dry your hair ANYWHERE. You can even walk around your home drying your hair if you wanted to. Why not take your dryer outside? It’s cordless after all… you are NOT stuck attached to an outlet with a few feet of room to move around. This cordless dryer lets you move anywhere you want to go.
I am planning on taking this with me the next time we stay at a hotel. Some hotels have dryers, but they are attached to the wall in the bathroom. With this dryer I can dry my hair in the room it’s self and not be stuck in the bathroom.
Seriously… WHY hasn’t anyone thought of this before?
The only “downside” to the VOLO Go Cordless Dryer is that it’s a wee bit heavy. My daughter doesn’t think so, but it is for me. I also suffer from really bad carpal tunnel and I have issues with my strength, so this might not be the best option for people in similar situations.
The price is also an issue. Like I said, this is the Rolls Royce of hair dryers, and the technology and cordless features come at a premium. This isn’t a budget friendly hair dryer, but if you can afford it, it’s worth every penny if you ask me.
