One fun “perk” about being a blogger is that occasionally you receive unexpected surprises in the mail. It’s like opening a Christmas or birthday present because you have no idea what could be inside.
Recently one such package arrived at my door. I opened it to find a wonderful gift basket full of goodies fro Welch’s. It contained three bottles of juice, fruit spreads, spreading knives, crackers and a reusable tote bag all in a lovely basket that had my name on it. It’s all pictured above.
The three juices are from Welch’s new Farmer’s Pick product line. These 100% fruit juices don’t contain artificial ingredients. The unfiltered juice provides consumers with aroma and flavor of freshly picked fruit.
Currently the juice is available in three flavors – Concord Grape, Blackberry and Mango.
My kids were anxious to give them a try. Normally I am not a fruit juice drinker (I find most fruit juices to be too sweet), but I was excited to give this juice a try, especially knowing that its made with no artificial ingredients.
My kids wanted to open the Concord Grape juice first but I wanted to try the Blackberry. Thankfully we had enough room in the fridge for both juices (you need to refrigerate the after opening plus they taste better cold).
I LOVE the Blackberry! It really does taste exactly like the fruit. It’s as if I took a handful of fresh picked Blackberries and ran them through a juice extractor. The juice has a fully bodied taste to it as well. It doesn’t taste watered down. I also like that its not overly sweet. Most juice, in my opinion, is too sweet. The Farmer’s Pick fruit tastes no sweeter than the actual fruit. I prefer it this way.
When I was younger we had wild blackberries growing in the woods behind our house. I used to love to go and pick the and eat them right off the bush (I was little – the idea of washing them before eating them never occurred to me). The Farmer’s Pick Blackberry Juice brought back memories of my childhood and all those times I would enjoy freshly picked blackberries.
The Concord Grape juice was also very enjoyable. I know it was a hit with my kids because the entire bottle was empty in two days. Thankfully I did have a chance to try a little bit of it.
“Farmer’s Pick, like all 100% juices, contains no added sugar and delivers one serving, or half a cup, of fruit in every four-ounce glass,” said Casey Lewis, MS, RD, and Welch’s Health and Nutrition Lead. “This new addition to the Welch’s family is a delicious and nutritious juice you can feel good about enjoying with your family.”
Right now the Mango is chilling in our fridge. I haven’t had a chance to try it yet (I just put it in the fridge earlier today).
In addition to the Farmer’s Pick juices, Welch’s also sent me two Farmer’s Pick fruit spreads. These flavorful spreads don’t contain any artificial colors or flavors. They are also made with no preservatives or high fructose corn syrup.
Welch’s Farmer’s Pick spreads are available in Concord Grape, Raspberry and Strawberry flavors. I received both Raspberry and Concord Grape to review.
The first one I tried was the Raspberry. Welch’s sent along some crackers and I was salivating just thinking about the spread on the crackers.
I have one word for you – DELICIOUS!
The raspberry spread is SO GOOD.
I’ve made my own jams and jellies in the past using fresh fruits and this spread tastes BETTER than the ones I have made.
Both spreads are very flavorful and have been wonderful on crackers, toast and sandwiches. I have enjoyed both spreads and raspberry is my favorite. I’ll have to pick up the strawberry spread when I see it in the store.
