You might be surprised to hear it, but gamblers spend a lot of time watching TV. You’d think they’d spend their free time perfecting their strategies, reading up on statistics, and learning new games. No, this isn’t the case at all. Most gamblers spend the biggest portion of their days watching TV. That being said, there is nothing wrong with this, as long as you are watching the right things. You might be able to get you feel of TV and learn some tips and tricks along the way. In order to do so, you have to make sure you are watching the right shows. Which shows should you be watching?
Las Vegas
Ever spend so much time in a casino that you start to wonder about the employees? Wonder what it would be like to walk and live a day in the world of a casino worker? That’s pretty much what Las Vegas offers. The fictional show revolves around the Montecito hotel and its eccentric cast of characters. Watching the show, you’ll not only learn about the inner workings of one of the most popular casinos on The infamous Strip, but you’ll learn about how the employees interact with the guests. It doesn’t hurt that this show also boasted an all-star cast of who’s who. The show featured top actors like James Caan, Josh Duhamel, and Tom Selleck.
Tilt
The poker craze might have been a hectic and wild one, but it was ever so short lived. And, Tilt was the perfect example of just how short it was. ESPN did what most major poker production tried to do at the height of the craze. They tried to capitalize. The only problem was, it didn’t work out so well for them. As was already mentioned, Tilt was one of the perfect examples of just how the network failed. Created by the co-writer of the popular classic casino movie Rounder, Tilt only lasted nine episodes, but it dealt closely with poker championships. If you ever wonder what it’d be like to get into poker championships or play against some of the best players in the world, check out Tilt.
Most of the action might take place in a fictitious casino, but a lot of the theory of the show is based on real event and real occurrences.
Deadwood
Deadwood was a show that was and is still as popular as agen poker online. Although its been over, reviewed, and reran hundreds of time, there are still tons of dedicated fans that follow the show. And, when you see everything that it has to offer, you’ll understand why. While it does start out a bit slow, it doesn’t take long before things start getting interesting. The only problem here is, gambling isn’t the central theme of the show. However, it does cover a time when gambling was developing and coming into its own. It shows how people of olden times used poker and baccarat to face off head to head.
It also covers the aspect of how most casinos in the past were intertwined with brothels. In the Wild West where you found a casino, you’d certainly find a brothel or two.
