I enjoy working from home. I don’t have to get dressed up, nor do I have to worry about my make up and my hair. T-shirts, shorts or sweats, no make up and my hair in a pony tail is how I normally look. I know, it’s not very glamorous, but it’s certainly comfortable.
I do enjoy getting dressed up and going out and about. It’s fun! I wish I could do it more often. I really like to wear my nice (fancy) clothes, make up, jewelry and do up my hair. I also love to wear perfume. My teen daughter wears perfume every day. She has more perfume than I can count. Sometimes I “borrow” her perfume, even if I’m not going out (she has some nice scents).
I do have perfumes but they are not something you’d wear at home or running errands around town. They are more for a night out with the hubby. For me they are just too much to wear every day.
I was sent a bottle of Harvey Prince’s new perfume, Yogini, to review. Yogini is made up of Egyptian Myrrh, Sandalwood and Pink Grapefruit. The scent is soft and meant to relax you and soothe your inner yogi. Egyptian Myrrh and Sandalwood sound like they belong together, but Pink Grapefruit just seemed like an odd addition to the other scents. Pink Grapefruit is sweet and fruity where as the other scents are not.
I have reviewed other Harvey Prince scents over the years including Eau Flirt and Ageless. I enjoyed both of those perfumes so I was expecting another lovely scent from Harvey Prince with Yogini. “Lovely” is an understatement. Yogini is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I am in love with this fragrance. From the very first time I squirted some on my wrist I have been almost “addicted” to it. I spray it on me every day since I received it. Sometimes more than once a day. I can’t get enough of the scent. My daughter loves it too.

I wish I could more accurately describe how it smells. It’s not fruity. It’s not a floral. It’s not even a musk, although if anything it probably leans more towards a musk. The perfume is made with Sandalwood, Madagascar Vanilla, Cardamom, Star Jasmine, Golden Amber, Egyptian Myrrh, Pink Grapefruit, Sensual Incense, Lilly of the Valley, Rose Petals, Black Currant and Ylang Ylang.
It starts off sort of like a musk but then it changes into something else. For the life of me I cannot accuratly describe it. All I know is that it smells amazing.
What I love about Yogini is that it’s an “everyday” perfume. You can wear this to the office, a night out with the girls, a “hot date”, running errands around town or simply enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon at home. This perfume is ideal for everywhere and any occasion.
I find that the perfume has a very calming effect to it. Perhaps that is why they named it “Yogini”. A Yogini is someone who practices Yoga. Yoga is where you use your spiritual, mental and physical being and bring them together as one to give you spiritual insight and tranquility. It makes sense that a perfumed named after Yoga, or a Yogini, would have a peaceful, calming and soothing effect on you.
I wish this perfume was available in a room spray, candle and/or essential oil because I would use it all over my house. 🙂 I seriously love the smell of this perfume. Out of all the perfumes I currently own, and out of all I’ve used in the past, this is my absolute favorite.
I have even sprayed in on before going to bed. It’s so soothing and relaxing. It’s like spraying your daily stresses away. LOL!
