You MUST try these products from Waxing Kara

I love things that are scented. It doesn’t matter to me if it’s beauty products, household cleaners, candles, sprays, lotions… it’s all wonderful to me.

I am a firm believer that scent can alter your mood. If I smell something that brings me joy, such as a real Christmas tree, lilacs or even baby powder, it makes me happy. For that reason I make sure to surround myself with the scents that make me feel happy and relaxed.

I love seasonal scents too, like the above mentioned Christmas tree scent (REAL Christmas tree, not the fake stuff). I also love fall inspired scents like pumpkin spice, pumpkin pie, apples and leaves. If you look in my drawers you’ll find a lot more fall scents then scents for any other time of the year. Fall scents are my most favorite.

It’s rare to come across a beauty product that is scented in one of the scents that bring me the most joy, most especially fall scented products, with the exception of candles, sprays and plug-ins. You can imagine how excited I was when I learned that the brand Waxing Kara had pumpkin spice scented beauty products. Needless to say I jumped on the opportunity to do a review.

Waxing Kara believes that nature holds the key to well-being. What you put into and onto your body directly affects how you feel and interact in your surroundings. Waxing Kara’s intention is to nourish the mind, body, and spirit by bringing nature into all aspects of everyday life, inspiring beauty from within.

The Waxing Kara brand has one foot rooted in the nostalgic past and the other moving toward an adventurous future. That’s why you can find our products, inspired by nature, across the US in specialty stores, spas, apothecaries and online as well.

Waxing Kara is passionate about saving bees. As you probably know, bees are in great danger. They are rapidly decreasing in numbers. I know some people might think this is OK (no more bee stings), but the truth of the matter is, without bees we are going to eliminate most of our food supplies. We NEED bees to pollinate things. Without them there would be no fruits, trees, plants, some vegetables… the list goes on. It’s a serious problem. Google it if need be.

Waxing Kara promotes a socially-conscious message about the importance of bees, not only through their personal health, but also for the health and sustainability of the planet.

The brand is committed to reducing our carbon footprint, and one important way of doing this is finding ways to help save the honeybees.

Waxing Kara also believe in doing good. A portion of all profits made from Waxing Kara is donated to VisionWorkshops, a worldwide non-profit organization focused on teaching at-risk youth the art of photojournalism.

If you visit the Waxing Kara website, you will find a plethora of products. They even have the most beautiful catalog, which was sent to me along with some products to review. They sell food products, beauty products, gifts, candles and artwork.

I was sent to review products from their Harvest line of products.

Remember how I said earlier that fall scents were my all time favorite scents, and how finding beauty products scented with fall scents was not easy? Well Waxing Kara not only has fall scented beauty products, but they are amazing products too.

Waxing Kara Autumn Harvest Ritual Collection

I received to review their Autumn Harvest Ritual “tower.” The jars are stacked inside a plastic tube. Inside the tube I found the following products;

Harvest Pumpkin Butter: warm, rich, and soothing natural plant butter and essential oils to soothe skin.

I love! Love! Love this!

Body butter is great to use, especially this time of year when my skin tends to be the driest (fall and winter). I use body butter all over, but if I’m in a rush I’ll make sure to at least put it on my elbows and knees.

As a body butter, Harvest Pumpkin Butter is fantastic. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and soft. I love it so much that I’ve been using it as a hand lotion too. It does take a bit to completely soak into your skin (as it does with all body butters because they are thick), but it’s well worth the wait.

It does not leave your skin greasy either. It all absorbs into your skin.

The scent is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! It stays on your skin for a while too. I love to put my nose up to my skin I could get a subtle whiff of the Harvest scent.

The scent is not overpowering, and you won’t smell like a pumpkin pie all day. But while the scent does linger on your skin for a bit, and it’s scrumptious.

Harvest Mask: clays, oats, honey and pumpkin pulp purify the skin.

This is a nice, soothing facial mask. It goes on easily and washes off completely, leaving your face feeling so fresh and clean, you won’t want to put any make up on. For that reason, I recommend using this in the evening.

This one doesn’t have the same wonderful scent, which I was a wee bit disappointed about, but none the less, the product it’s self is wonderful.

This is the first clay mask I’ve ever encountered that is in a powdered form. There are directions on what you should mix it with, depending on your skin type. I have “mature” skin, so it recommends mixing the powdered clay with carrot juice. I didn’t have any handy, so I used warm green tea, which was another option (good for all skin types).

I love the idea of mixing the mask fresh when you are ready to use it. I rather do that then use one that has been sitting around on a shelf for months, or even years. With this mask, you mix it fresh when you are ready to use it.

This is really nice, and I am looking forward to using it many more times (the jar could probably make a few masks, depending on how much you use).

Products found in Waxing Kara’s Autumn Harvest Pumpkin Collection

Peace Soak: a combination of Epsom and dead sea salts and fresh-picked lavender buds from our farm ease sore muscles.

I couldn’t tell you the last time I took a bath. I simply don’t have the time. I used to take them all the time, but that was many years ago. Now I just take quick showers.

I was curious to try out this product, so I made it a point to take a bath so I could soak in it. Normally when I took baths I would just take a bath. The only time I ever soaked is when I was achy and needed to soak in Epsom salt. This product has Epsom salt (and dead sea salts) in it.

My muscles weren’t hurting, but I did find this soak extremely relaxing.

Sadly, I ended up using the whole jar. It’s a small jar, but knowing how lovely it is, I would definitely purchase a larger jar in the future.

I could small the lavender, but it was a bit faint. Every now and then I would get a whiff of it. That’s OK. I still found the soak to be very relaxing, no matter what scent it had.

I can tell you that I was more than ready to slip into my snugly pajamas and get to bed when I got out of the tub from soaking in this. It was really a nice experience. I have never been to a spa before, but I would guess this bath soak experience would be a lot like how a spa soak would be.

Waxing Kara body butter (L) and body scrub (R)

Harvest Pumpkin Scrub: organic honey crystals, organic sugar pumpkin pulp and ground walnut shells cleanse and renew dry skin, leaving it fresh and new.

I’m not a big fan of scrubs that use walnuts shells. I rather use salt or sugars scrubs because they dissolve completely and I don’t have to rinse out the bathtub/shower after I use them. Walnut based scrubs tend to leave bits of walnut around the tub/shower, which I have to rinse off.

This Harvest Pumpkin Scrub did not leave those itty bitty bits of walnuts pieces in my tub, so there was no need to clean out the tub/shower after my shower (yeah!).

As a scrub, this is lovely. It left my skin feeling clean and refreshed. I think the honey in this also played a part in that. I have never used a scrub with honey in it before.

The same lovely scent is also in the scrub. Using this product in a warm shower was a fabulous experience. The scent was all around me in the shower. Ahhh… it was heavenly!

Harvest Candle: a warm blend of pumpkin, spice, and walnut to warm your heart and your home.

If you read my blog on a regular basis, you have probably seen me write about how much I love candles. I an a professed “candle-o-holic.” I LOVE candles! I burn candles almost on a daily basis. Not only do I find watching the flames relaxing, but I also love how they fill the room with wonderful scents.

As you could probably guess, this candle goes along perfectly with all of the other Harvest Pumpkin products. It’s the same exact delightful scent, but in a candle form that I can enjoy any time of the day.

I only wish that I had a larger version of this candle, because I want it to last until after Thanksgiving. I’m burning it so much that I worry I’m going to wear it down. I want to see this make it to our Thanksgiving table if possible. It is a soy candle, so hopefully it will last until then.

In addition to the Autumn Harvest Ritual set I was sent to review, I also received a bottle of their Botanical Water, specifically their Lavender Flower Water.

Flower Water is a facial and body mist that elegantly tones, refreshes and hydrates skin and hair. Lavender, in particular, aids to reduce skin inflammation and irritants. The scent is light, calming, clean and grassy, nostalgic of fresh air on a spring day.

I have been spritzing this on my face to refresh it. It also perks me up a bit. It’s very refreshing.

I have not yet used this product on my hair, only because I use a leave in conditioner, and adding something on my hair might make it look greasy or get sticky. I’d use this on my hair only if my hair didn’t have the leave in condition on it.

I haven’t noticed much as far as hydration or reducing inflammation, only because my skin is not irritated/inflamed, and I haven’t checked for hydration. All I know is that it feels good on my skin and I like using it.

The scent is very nice too. It’s very subtle, but nice.

These are just a few of the products carried by Waxing Kara. If their other scented products are anything like the Harvest Pumpkin scented products, they must be amazing too.

If you are like me and you love fall scented products, you will want to pick up any or all products in this collection, before they sell out or they are gone for the season. If you do miss out, or pumpkin is not your favorite scent, check out the other products available on Waxing Kara.
