Greetings from Montreal, Canada. I arrived in Montreal last night.
I am staying at a lovely hotel. I will write a review of the hotel when I return.
I’m here in Montreal to visit the set of the Smurfs 2 movie which is currently shooting on location here in Montreal. I am also going to have the opportunity to meet the director, Raja Gosnell (Smurfs, Home Alone 3, Never Been Kissed) and ask him a few questions. We’ll also meet and interview some of the stars of the movie. No, not the Smurfs (although that would be totally cool!). Myself and the other writers will have the chance to meet and interview Neil Patrick Harris (Smurfs, How I Met Your Mother, Doogie Howswer,MD), Hank Azaria (voices characters on The Simpsons, Smurfs, Hop and stared in Dodgeball and Night at the Museum 2), and Brendan Gleeson (“Mad Eye Moody” from the Harry Potter movies). I believe Jayma Mays (Glee, Paul Blart Mall Cop) might be on set too. I’m not 100% sure yet.
As much as I would love to tell you about my on set experience as well as share the interviews with my readers, I am unable to do so at this time. It’s not uncommon for movies to have “embargoes” where you cannot talk about the film until it’s closer to it’s release date. But I can assure you the moment that the movie studio says it’s OK to share the interviews and on set experience with my readers I will.
I will have limited access to my e-mails today. I’ll be on set and doing interviews all day. I will check e-mail when I return to my hotel room in the evening. I will respond to urgent e-mails right away. Other e-mails I’ll tend to on Wednesday. I’ll be home Wednesday afternoon.
Wish me luck. I haven’t been out of the country since 1986 (Europe). I haven’t been to Canada in about 30+ years. I’ve also never been to Montreal. From what I can tell from photos on the Internet it looks beautiful.
I will try and tweet on Twitter (@She_Scribes) as well as post and share photos (not movie related ones) on Facebook (www.Facebook.com/SheScribes). If you don’t already follow me please consider it. You can follow my adventures traveling to/from Montreal (including flying home in a small plane with propellers!). I ♥ followers.
