Being a “mom” to five cats and a dog, I know a thing or two about hair. It’s everywhere!!! I try very hard to keep our home clean but there is no escaping pet hair and dander, no matter have much you dust and vacuum. Thankfully our dog doesn’t shed (must be something with one of the breeds he’s mixed with). You wouldn’t think our cats were that bad unless you are wearing black pants or shorts and sit down on the furniture. Ugh! That is why I need to keep on top of things on a daily basis.

We like to keep our furniture as clean as possible. The dog and the cats are not really allowed on the couch or my husband’s beloved chair, but they go on there anyway. We tried to compromise by letting take over the loveseat, but they still like to make themselves comfortable elsewhere.

My husband likes to put an old bed sheet on his chair when we go out and no one is home to watch our dog. Otherwise the dog will sit on my husband chair and get it dirty. I understand why he does this but it’s an eye sore to see the sheet on the chair – especially when people come over (like repairmen). I make sure to remove the sheet before they come inside.

As for our couch we just chase them off when the cats go on there (the dog won’t). We use an old sheet to cover that up too when we are not at home.

I have toyed with the idea of using a slipcover for the furniture, but they look like they would be a hassle to put on and off on a daily basis. Not only that they are not always the most attractive things.

I was sent to review a Deluxe Pet Sofa Cover from a company called Sure Fit. Sure Fit makes covers for chairs, sofas, love seats and even covers for your car/truck. They also carry a variety of other household items too.

Since our cats like to sleep on the loveseat I asked Sure Fit if they could send me a cover for it. I think I may have received one for a sofa instead because it’s a wee bit too big. That is fine. I’m sure we’ll be able to use it on our couch too. But for now we keep it on the loveseat so that the cats can sleep there and I don’t have to worry about cat hair getting embedded into the furniture.

Did you read the last part? It can be washed! I was a bit worried at first because I wasn’t sure if this could go into the washer. I wasn’t sure how I would clean it. We’ve already washed and dried it 3-4 times and it looks just as great as it did the first day we put it on the loveseat. If we had a house with our own washer and dryer I would probably make a point of washing it once a week to remove the pet hair and dander. Since we have to pay to do our laundry (we live in a condo) we have to limit ourselves to every other week.

The Sure Fit cover covers the entire back of the loveseat, a good portion of the front and it has “wings” to cover the entire arm area too. It covers about 80% of the loveseat including all the areas where our cats would sleep (arm, back and of course on the loveseat it’s self).

The Sure Fit cover provides my pets with a soft, comfortable place to rest. It provides me with a much more attractive way to keep the pet hair and dander off my furniture.

What I love about the covers are that they are easy to remove and put back on. That means if I have unexpected company I can easily take it off, fold it up and tuck it inside a closet. Once removed the loveseat has basically no hair on it. There are a few stray hairs that manage to get under the cover but it’s minimal. Without the cover the hair would be embedded on the loveseat and next to impossible to remove it all. When you have unexpected company stop by you don’t have the time to break out the vacuum to clean off the furniture and take a lint roller brush to it to remove every last piece of hair.

Over all I am pleased with the Sure Fit cover. It gives me piece of mind that our furniture is protected. I also love how easy it is to use and to clean. I am planning on picking up an additional cover for my husband’s chair so that we can get rid of the ugly sheet that we currently use.

  66. I really like all the options and could use every one of them. I have eight dogs, three of which are rescues…..one of them is a big dog who stays off the furniture and my oldest dog doesn’t like to be up high anymore but that leaves six little furry doggies that are always sleeping on the couch. I keep a sheet or blanket on it to protect it but this would be so much nicer and much more attractive as well, I’d chose the sofa cover as my top pick….really like it.   67. I honestly love all of these and with eight dogs, including three rescues I could surely use all of them. My big dog doesn’t get on the couch and my oldest doesnt like high places anymore, but that leaves six little fluffy dogs who love to sit on and sleep on the couch. I use a sheet or blanket now to protect it but this is so much nicer. I’d most love the sofa cover and would love to win it as it would look nice on my couch and protect it too.
