Hello and welcome to my little corner of the “Blogoshere”. My name is Kimberly and I am the owner, writer, editor and publisher of She Scribes.
In a nutshell I am a mother, wife, business owner, freelance writer & photographer, blogger and a mini-zoo keeper. You will find that I write a lot about life in general and whatever is on my mind.
My family resides in a shoe box sized condo in the suburbs of New York City along with our four cats and our strange little dog who THINKS he’s a cat.
When I am not writing on my blog or doing the million other things that I need to do on a daily basis I can usually be found sleeping (no kidding… I ♥ to take cat naps), watching TV or movies, hanging out with family and friends or zipping into NYC to take advantage of all the amazing things that the big city has to offer.
I have always had a passion for writing and photography. I have several articles that I have written floating around the Internet on various sites and newsletters. I also offer my photography as “stock photography” on a few different websites.
I have done a lot and experienced a lot over the years. For example, I interned for a year as a “peer counselor” at an all-male maximum security prison (as an intern, not as a resident, ha ha), worked as a teacher’s assistant working with “at risk” youths, ran a toddler playgroup, acted as a volunteer environmental instructor at a local park and many other interesting experiences. I love to learn and I enjoy opening myself up for new experiences. I live by the motto that if it’s not illegal, immoral or will kill me I’m willing to give it a try.
I’m happy married to my best friend. We have two children, a teenage daughter (teenagers are SO MUCH FUN <– note the sarcasm) and a pre-teen son.
I have a home business, www.Everyday-Occasions.com. It started out as a hobby, then into a business, then back to a hobby. I spend more time on my blog then I do with my business, sad to say. Some day I hope to find a happy balance between the two.
