Now that the warmer weather is here people are making plans for summer vacation. My family has not been on vacation in many years. The most we do is day trips. We already have plans to go to the county fair in August. We go every other year and this is the year that we go. Aside from that our plans are still up in the air.

Another thing that people do when the weather gets warmer is move. After all, who wants to move in the middle of Winter? Most people, especially those with children, tend to move during the summer months. That way they can get settled in to their new home before school starts again.

  4. Im going to stay in San Marcos so I can work on some credits for graduation. Ill hit up the river and maybe visit San Antonio too. I gotta work too so I can make some money! I dont have to move out of my apartment because I renewed my lease with The Edge 😀

  5. We are moving right now! The movers will be here (Denver) day after tomorrow to move us to South Carolina–long move! Though this move is pretty well set and orchestrated by the company, I have used Apartment Guide in the past for great info on moving to a new community.

  6. Well, we have no plans for the summer months, but the spring months will be very busy. My son is graduating from college in May and my daughter is graduating from high school in June.

  7. I actually am planning on moving 😀 The air in Denver is way too dry for me and I have trouble breathing 🙁 I have only been here 4.5 months and already need to leave!!

  14. Me too.. I can’t afford a vacation..so I’ll have a staycation. Sit on my back porch and try to get some sun!

  15. I am so thankful that I am not moving this summer (I originally was). I will be doing some major organizing this summer. I have a few projects planned already!

  19. Well we went on vacation last month so this summer is all about stay cations we plan on doing some fun things like going to the water park, the renaissance fair, camping, tubing, and trips to the jersey shore, hopefully we get to do it all 🙂

  20. Hopefully a family vacation will be fit in between summer gym and camps along with family functions. My daughter and I would like to take our first mom/daughter weekend trip.

  28. We plan on going to the sterling renissance festival we go every year, its alot of fun.

  40. Hi! 🙂 Well, just at this point, sticking it out at work until September when I’m taking two classes instead of just one. Was going to take a summer class, but probably not. Will give me more time to read my huge TBR pile before school… LOL

  49. I am not sure we will be taking a vacation this summer. Our daughter is getting married in September, so we will have to save for that!

  52. My daughter will be returning home from Turkey this summer and because she was not here with us for the holidays, we will be having a “holidays in the summer” theme party in her honor! Every summer our neighborhood has one big theme party, so this year we’re doing a holiday theme and everyone is getting involved! We’ll do the tradtional Christmas cookies, hang the lights on the deck, cook the turkey outside on the spit and exchange small gag gifts with one another. And everyone will be required to bring a new toy~~~~and during the REAL Christmas at the end of the year, we will donate them to toys for tots….

  58. No moving, no vacation. We are going to be doing some home improvement projects this Summer. Our son is going off to college to we will be preparing for that too.

  65. My husband turns 50 this year. We have not been on vacation in over 7 yrs and he would like to go away for a few days around his birthday.

  67. Going to Mesa, Arizona for a couple of days and then Austin, Texas for a couple more for July 4th weekend!

  79. We have absolutely zero plans. I lost my job in November, and am now doing whatever I can to make ends meet. A vacation is a distant, far event that I can’t even imagine right now.

  85. We plan on working in our garden this summer. Last year was our first year with the full garden, and we fell in love. It’s very rewarding!

Hubby is taking a Job in Virginia, which means this summer is all about marketing the house, updating the house and taking care of our daughter, horses, dogs, cats etc etc while he is working over there. oy! All in all, have to do something for myself, so I have my gym (which has daycare) and neighbors (who will spend time with our daughter as they are NOK for her) to have to keep me company when I want adult conversation time. I can only handle so much Tigger, Blue’s clues and disney songs lol!

  117. My big plans for the summer months except probably heading down the shore to Wildwood a few weekends. Thankfully no more moving required of me, though lots of organizing and going through/donating/trashing my mother’s belongings.

  159. I plan on trying to unpack & reorganize my house. We just moved back in after 2 years of living with my MIL. We had tornado damage repaired as well as other issues fixed. It seemed it was one thing after another! Before we knew it, it was 2 years since we had lived in our home that we were paying a mortgage on!. We are moved back in but there are boxes upon boxes of stuff everywhere! I have a bum knee & cant do any of the unpacking and such by myself. Im pretty much at the mercy of waiting on hubby to do it in his spare time which he has next to none of. Acckkkkkkk lol

  181. We haven’t been on vacation in years 1st couldn’t afford one in the ole days, and now that were retired we
    got us a rescue puppy. We don’t want to leave him behind and don’t think he or us would enjoy a vacation together so its kinda day trips, that we can be back home the same day or we take turns staying home with him while the other goes.
