Don’t you hate it when you turn on the TV or open a magazine and read about what foods you should, or shouldn’t, be eating only to read an article about it a few weeks or months later telling you the opposite? It’s crazy! Eat this, don’t eat this, eat that, don’t eat that… Sigh…
Certain things do seem to remain on the “eat this” list because of their health benefits. Obviously fruits and veggies are high on that list. Also fish is another healthy item you should include in your daily diet. Fish contains Omega-3, a vital nutrient our body needs. Fish like salmon, tuna, anchovies, herring, mackerel, sturgeon, trout and sardines (to name a few) are especially good for you.
According to WebMD…
Fish oil is used for a wide range of conditions. It is most often used for conditions related to the heart and blood system. Some people use fish oil to lower blood pressure or triglyceride levels (fats related to cholesterol). Fish oil has also been tried for preventing heart disease or stroke. The scientific evidence suggests that fish oil really does lower high triglycerides, and it also seems to help prevent heart disease and stroke when taken in the recommended amounts. Ironically, taking too much fish oil can actually increase the risk of stroke.
Fish may have earned its reputation as “brain food” because some people eat fish to help with depression, psychosis, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Alzheimer’s disease, and other thinking disorders.
I have heard similar reports about the benefits of fish oil. I don’t know if it’s entirely true or not (I don’t think anything has been proven by the FDA) but it certainly can’t hurt to enjoy fish. I happen to love fish.
Not everyone likes fish, or seafood for that matter. My husband for example will only eat tuna, and not all the time. My kids will only eat tuna and fish sticks (I’m pretty sure fish sticks are not that healthy).
My husband’s cardiologist did recommend that he take fish oil supplements. He purchased a bottle several months ago and found them to be disgusting. He couldn’t stand the taste of them and wouldn’t take them. I took them just so they didn’t go to waste.
Nature Made makes a fish oil gummy. Gummy supplements seems to be popping up all over. I think they are easier, and more enjoyable, to take then swallowing a pill or tablet.
I like Natural Made gummies (especially their Calcium gummies – Yummy!). I takes Nature Made Calcium, B12 and Multivitamin gummies on a regular basis. I like taking gummies rather than swallowing pills because they taste good. It’s more like enjoying a sweet treat rather than swallow a dry, icky tasting pill. I find that I am more likely to take my supplements and vitamins when it’s a pleasant and enjoyable experience. This is probably why I often forget to take my prescription medication. It’s just not fun enough. LOL!
Nature Made sent me a bottle of their Fish Oil gummies to try out. Compared to other fish oil supplements they certainly taste and smell A LOT better. I don’t find them as tasty as the other Nature Made gummies that I take, but they are not that bad. Not like other fish oil supplements that smell and taste fishy.
I had my husband try the Nature Made fish oil gummies. Initially he wasn’t overly keen about them, but he did say they were much better than the fish oil supplements he purchased a few months ago. I asked him to keep trying them to see if they eventually grew on him. He’s been using them for a few weeks now. He says they are “OK” and he can tolerate them.
Personally I think the other Nature Made gummies that I have like Calcium and the Multivitamin taste better than the fish oil, but they are not that bad.
If you want to take fish oil supplements, or they have been recommended by your doctor and you find them hard to stomach, why not give Nature Made’s Fish Oil supplements a try. You might be pleasantly surprised. 🙂

I’ve tried other fish oil (Omega 3) gummy brands, not Nature Made and I also find them much more digestible than the pill form. The pills seem huge, have a weird taste (if you happen to accidentally taste them) and smell weird. They are a bit like sweet treats. I’ve tried Nature Made B-complex vitamins and those I swallow with no smell or issues with size. I’m sure they taste chalky. I will have to check out Nature Made Omega-3 Fish Oil gummies when our current batch of gummies run out.

I don’t know about gummies, but I know that my husband takes a fish oil supplement and he seems to be doing well with it.
