I thought some readers might be interested in the following information. It’s from an event I was invited to attend, but due to a bad knee and not having a viable ride to/from the city, I couldn’t join in on the fun.
Jenny Craig Brand Ambassador Valerie Bertinelli joined Team Jenny at the AHA Wall Street Run & Heart Walk earlier today in New York. She pounded the pavement for an amazing cause helping Jenny Craig commemorate 30 years of changing lives by recognizing 30 successful Jenny Craig clients who have achieved their weight loss goals and are on a path to better health. Valerie also encouraged Americans to commit to walking at least 30 minutes a day.
Valerie, who lost 40 pounds*** on Jenny Craig in December 2007 recognizes the importance of being in good heart health. Heart disease, the number one killer in America, is a personal issue for her as losing weight has made a very positive impact on Valerie’s life and those close to her. That is why she is such a strong advocate of maintaining a healthy diet and exercising to help lower the risk of heart disease.
Walking thirty minutes a day, every day, should not be hard to achieve. Something I do to “force” myself to walk is to purposely park far from a store entrance. My husband always looks for the closet spot. I’m the opposite. I look for the furthest spot. That forces me to have to walk a longer distance to get into the store and back to the car.
Talking the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator is also a great idea.
There are easy ways to squeeze 30 minutes of walking into your daily activities.
What do YOU do to ensure that you walk at least 30 minute per day? Feel free to comment and let me know.
