The third installment to the Ant-Man movie franchise, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantimania, is now available on digital platforms. It will be available on Blu-ray, DVD and Ultra 4K on May 16, 2023.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantimania, brings back the original cast – Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Michel Pfeiffer, Evangaline Lily, and Corey Stoll. It also brings a new cast member, Kathryn Newton, as well as a plethora of others.
Things are going well with Scott (Rudd). He’s still with Hope (Lily) and spends quality time together with her and her parents, Hank (Douglas) and Janet (Pfeiffer), along with his now grown daughter Cassie (Newton). Things are just a little too “status quo.” Nothing really exciting has happened to any of them in a long time. That can be a good thing, or a bad thing, depending on how you look at it.
Unbeknown to Scott, Cassie, along with Hank’s help, has been working on a device that can establish contact with the Quantum Realm. When Janet finds out, she panics and damages that device thrusting all of them into the vast great unknown that is the Quantum Realm. Well… it’s truly unknown to all but Janet. Janet spent time in the Quantum Realm years prior.
Scott and Cassie are thrown one place in the Quantum Realm, and Hope, Janet and Hank end up elsewhere in the realm.
The Quantum Realm holds cavillations, but human and cosmic creatures. It’s not a great vastness as everyone originally through it would be. Janet, having spent a long time in the Quantum Realm knew that but never shared much detail about her time there before being rescued in the last film. As time goes on it also becomes clear to Hope and Hank that Janet has a few “skeletons in her closet.”
Inside the Quantum Realm there is major uprising happening against an evil ruler known as Kang. Janet knows all too well how powerful and evil Kang can be.
It soon becomes a race against time for Hope, Hank and Janet to find Scott and Cassie, and to escape the Quantum Realm before Kang can repair his ship and reap havoc against other realms, including the one that we see as our reality (meaning Earth as we know it).
Will they be successful in stopping Kang before it’s too late? Will they ever make it back from the Quantum Realm? To find out, rent or purchase Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Look for it where ever movies are sold/rented digitally.
Spoiler alert – since this is a Marvel movie, make sure to watch all the way through the end credits for an “Easter Egg” that would answer one of the above questions.
You can also purchase the film on Blu-ray, DVD and Ultra 4K on May 16, 2023.
I loved the first film, but the second one I was a bit disappointed by. This film, the third installment, made up for it… and then some.
The special effects in this film do not disappoint. They are truly amazing. The film makers not only brought the Quantum Realm to life, but also created some pretty cool looking creatures. Even the people who call the Quantum Realm their home were not your average looking person.
It was great to see people such as Bill Murray in this film. Even Corey Stoll returns in this film in a most unexpected way. His character is more hilarious that evil (even though he tries to be evil in the film).
I love the character of Veb. I don’t want to give much away. Let’s just say he’s fascinated by holes (mouths, ears, nostrils…). That’s all I ‘ll say about that. Once you see the film, you’ll know why I thought he was funny.
I have a feeling there might be a fourth installment in this film franchise, otherwise there might be another Marvel movie that brings back all the superheroes to fight in another multiverse situation. That is all I have to say about that. Just be sure you watch the end credits to find that “Easter egg” I was referring to. You’ll even see a familiar face (Loki).
I liked the story line of this film. There was a lot going on, but in a way that everything came together perfectly at the end of the film. I didn’t find the storyline predictable at all, which is a great thing.
The film is rated PG-13 and has a run time of just over two hours.
