I love Halloween. It’s fun to go trick-or-treating with your children. It’s also wonderful to see the adorable, and creepy, costumes that children wear.
Decorating is another highlight for me. I LOVE TO DECORATE! :-)!
We currently live in a condo so my decorating is limited to inside our unit and on our tiny balcony. We are in the process of trying to sell our condo and buy a house. I cannot wait to have a house with a yard that I can decorate! I’m going to have so much fun. My husband jokes that he’ll need a second job just to pay for the decorations. Ha Ha.
I’ve always had a dream of decorating my front yard to look like a cemetery with headstones, body parts popping up out of the ground and the occasional ghost fluttering about. I also want a fog machine to make it even scarier. I also want to put speakers outside and play some creepy Halloween music and sound effects. I would do it at low volume of course and only on Halloween and Halloween Eve. I wouldn’t want to annoy my new neighbors. 🙂
If you are looking for a cool music CD to add ambiance to your next Halloween party, or to add some chills to your Halloween display, you might want to consider a new CD called Be Afraid of the Dark: The Essential Halloween Music Collection. It’s from Reader’s Digest Music. There are some wickedly cool soundtracks on this CD.
Here are some of the songs you’ll fine on th CD;
Toccata in D Minor (Bach). This is a classic horror movie music.
Halloween (main title theme). This is from the Halloween movies. My daughter freaks out when she hears it. LOL!
Tubular Bells (main theme from the Exorcist)
Funeral March of the Marionette (Alfred Hitchcock presents theme)
Funeral March Sonata #2 in B Flat Minor. This is the classic funeral march music.
Some of the songs were pretty cool, others left me wondering why they were on this soundtrack. I didn’t find them scary. Some of those songs include The Twilight Saga: New Moon: Dreamcatcher, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (theme) and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith: Battle of the Heroes. There is another song, one with actual words (none of the other songs are sung) called Things that Go Bump in the Night. It seemed very out of place on this CD.
Here are some more details about the CD.

Over all I like the CD and plan on using it for my future Halloween parties and/or decorations. I wasn’t overly keen on some of the songs, but there are plenty of them on the CD that are “must haves” for Halloween.
Look for Be Afraid of the Dark: The Essential Halloween Music Collection on Amazon, iTunes and where ever music is sold.
