When I was younger (a hundred years ago…) I was “addicted” to playing Pac Man. I was very much into TV games (we had an Intellivision set) and arcade games (Pac Man!). My kids think I’m crazy when I talk about the games we used to play growing up. They find “Pong” especially amusing. Do you remember that game? It was just a little square “blip” that you hit back and forth like a tennis game? How lame was that! But back then that was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
These days kids have so many games and game systems available to them. Personally we own a Game Cube, Game Boys, Nintendo DS, and Wii. I’m not one to play the games because frankly I find them hard to “get” sometimes. I think I’m “technologically challenged” sometimes. Ha Ha. That is until now. I am totally addicted to a game called “Big Bang”. It’s for the Nintendo DS game system.
Big Bang is a lot of fun and it can get really crazy and chaotic the higher up the levels that you go. There are 80 levels in this game! And many different playing enviroments, each with their own “challenges”.
Using the stylus for the Nintendo DS you “shoot” at balloons. When the burst these stars fall down and you are suppose to catch all the stars. But what out. There are lots of things along the way that try to get you. You actually use both screens on the Nintendo DS for this game (both top and bottom screens). The higher the levels the more things get in your way and prevent you from busting the balloons and there are more things that try and knock your little playing icon out to make you loose.
I love this game because it’s so colorful! When the balloons explode it’s like fireworks. It’s a very colorful game. And some of the things that pop up on the screen as you are playing are just crazy! LOL!
This game reminds me a lot of the arcade games I played growing up. Like Centipede and Asteroids. You have to “shoot” things and watch out for things that are trying to get you.
This game was easy enough for someone who is “technologically challenged” like myself to figure out and to really get into the game. I’m still trying to get off of the first levels! There are like four different spots for the first level. I’m at the end. If I can win one more game I go up to the next level but I just can’t get it. Ugh! But I keep trying. I want to see what other fun things happen with the next level. I have only seen pictures on the Internet about some of the fun surprises I can expect.
Big Bang for Nintendo DS is available where other DS games are sold. But watch out… it can be very addicting! I love it as do my two kids (ages 9 and almost 12). My husband thinks it’s pretty fun too (he’s my “big kid”).
