When my son was a toddler my Mom bought him a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe. Oh my! He LIVED for that cute orange and yellow car. It was his world! He would play with it every single day, sometimes for hours at a time. He loves it so much that we still have it. Obviously he can’t play with it anymore but he can’t bare to part with it. Its currently collecting dust in the basement. Some day I hope to get him to let me donate it or give it away. It’s too much fun to let it rot away like that.

My son talks about having a “toy car” all the time, one that he can pretend to drive around in. At his age its easier said then done, not to mention the fact that we live in a tiny condo. If we were to find something for him it would have to be something that could be easily tucked away when not in use. Preferably something that could slide under the bed since we have no room in our condo.

Imagine how excited I was to learn about a car that my son could play with that easily came apart and could be folded up and tucked away when not in use.

Build a Dream Playhouse was kind enough to send me a Dream Car to review. My son had no idea that it was coming. It arrived one afternoon while the kids were at school. I immediately un-boxed the car and put it together.

At first it looked easy to do, thanks to the online video that shows you how the car is assembled. Things would have gone a lot smoother if our dog and the cats didn’t keep jumping into the car as I was trying to assemble the sides. They kept knocking it over on me.

From start to finish I would say it took me about a half hour (give or take) to put it together by myself. If I had help I could have done it in about 10 minutes. The man in the video can do it in a matter of minutes, but then again I’m sure he’s put together a few so he’s used to it.

I did have to use some tape in some spots to reinforce it. I figure when we need to store the car away I’ll just have to cut the tape off.

I had a hard time keeping the cats out of the car. To them it was a giant cat house. LOL!

As you can see the car is not decorated like the above picture. The car is left blank so that your child can decorate it and color it any way they want. With the exception of things written on the dashboard my son hasn’t decorated it yet. He wrote in a radio station and a few other things. I joked with him that I was going to make an air freshener out of cardboard too.

My son actually likes to play with the car on his bed. He said that being up higher makes it seem like he’s driving in a real car. He also likes to bring pillows in the car with him, like he’s camping in a tent.

Who knew that my son would have such a blast with the Dream Car from Build a Dream Playhouses.

  28. I have twins and I think they would love the Pop and Play Castle. They are into dragons and such so it would fit right in with their role play.
