People sometimes put celebrities up on a pedestal and think of them as people who don’t lift a finger around their home and spend the holiday season at lavish resorts and dropping a lot of money on extravagant things. Some celebrities might be that way, but most are not. In fact they are just like me and you. They enjoy being around family and friends during the holidays, posing for kitchy pictures in ugly Christmas sweaters around the tree and rolling up their sleeves to cook an amazing meal.
There is a new book that is now available called Bless This Table which focuses on the importance of a family meal and spending quality time with the ones that you love.
The book is written by Teri Diamond (chef, best-selling author and music executive) and Jaymes Foster (music producer). They reached out to their celebrity friends and asked them to share their personal family recipes and memories of time spent around the table.
The pages are packed with recipes from Michael Bublé, Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, The Pointer Sisters, Rita Wilson, Clay Aiken, Josh Groban, Donna Summer, Quincy Jones, Reba McIntyre and Wolfgang Puck to name a few. Each celebrity shares their favorite recipes and personal stories.
Throughout the book you’ll find not only celebrity photos but also photos of the recipes. What I liked about the photos is that they look like something that was photographed at the dinner table. They don’t look like they were set up and staged and shot by professional photographers.
Within the pages of this book you’ll find scrumptious recipes such as;
- Green Beans with Pears and Bacon
- Granny & Faye’s Hot Pineapple Salad
- Peach Pie
- Lemon Bread
- Corn Soufflé
- Chicken, Onions, Potatoes and Sauerkraut
- Cornflake Potato Casserole
- Groban Family Brunch Eggs
This is just a small sampling of the recipes you’ll find in this lovely book. I’ve already “dog eared” several pages.
In addition to being a beautifully written book filled with must-try recipes, a portion of the proceeds of the sale of this book has been earmarked for non-profit organizations that feed the hungry. If you read my blog on a regular basis you know that I fully support organizations that help feed the hungry.
Not only will the recipes in this book make a welcome addition to your holiday table, the book it’s self would make a wonderful gift.
You can also visit www.BlessthisTable.com for more information as well as to purchase the book and/or E-book. You can also check out the book on the various social media sites.
