I don’t know what part of the country you live in, but here in New York it does NOT seem like fall. I know that the official start to fall isn’t for another two weeks, but the weather sure doesn’t seem like fall is right around the corner. It’s been very hot and humid the past few days. I cannot wait until there is finally a little chill in the air.
When the air conditioner is blasting, and the news talking about a heat advisory, thoughts about the holiday season are not on my mind. We haven’t even decorated for Halloween yet, let alone think about Christmas shopping. Christmas is in 109 days (as of this moment in time).
We love decorating for the holidays. Well, I think I do more so than my husband, only because he has to lug up about 20 huge boxes from the basement, up and down four flights of steps. AFTER everything is up and we’re fully decorated, then he can appreciate our decorations.
We normally put our decorations up the weekend before Thanksgiving, then our Christmas tree goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving. Our outside decorations don’t get turned on until after Thanksgiving either.
I truly love to decorate. There is just something that warms my heart seeing beautiful holiday decorations. Bonus points if they light up and/or play music.
We have a few decorations that play music. I’m always turning things on when I walk past them. Even our clocks play holiday music at the top of every hour.
I have seen one brand on QVC for many years, and I have always loved their products. In fact, we own a few from the brand Mr. Christmas. Are you familiar with the brand?
Mr. Christmas offers the most beautiful and unique holiday decorations I have ever seen. They can be charming, whimsical, classic and more.
This year the brand is celebrating it’s 90th Anniversary. WOW! I didn’t know the brand has been around that long.
Happy Anniversary Mr. Christmas!
The brand was kind enough to send me one of their products – their holiday carousel.
I have seen this carousel on QVC for many years now (or at least something similar from the brand) and I’ve always wanted one. Needless to say I was beyond thrilled when I received a carousel to review.
My apologies for the poor photo quality. I also have the wrong side of the box displayed. This one shows the text in another language. The other side is in English.
The Very Merry Carousel from Mr. Christmas is animated, lights up and plays music!
I could not wait to get this out of the box and check it out.
First and foremost this is a large piece. This would look perfect on a table, television stand or a mantel.
What I noticed first about this carousel is that the roof is made out of a velvet-like fabric. I thought it was hard plastic, but it’s not. It’s soft to the touch. I’m sorry that my photo doesn’t show you how soft and fuzzy the roof is.
Inside the carousel classic looking reindeer (part of Santa’s sled team) go round-and-round along with a lovely looking Santa Claus seated in his sled.
The reindeers don’t move up and down (sadly), but they do move around in a circle.
The entire carousel is beautiful to look at because the brand put so much effort into the tiniest details. I am very impressed. From the wood-looking flooring to the amazing murals that surround the top of the carousel and everything in between.
Just look at the details of the murals. BEAUTIFUL!
There are even mirrors on the inside of the carousel, just like in a real one. My apologies that the photo didn’t turn out that good.
The controls for the carousel are found on the bottom, along the side.
I love that it has a volume control. Sometimes you want to really hear the music, and other things you might only want it to be playing in the background.
Did I mention that it lights up too. You should see it in a darker room. It really stands out.
I took a brief video of the carousel in action. It’s not the best video, but at least you’ll get the idea.
You can also see the video HERE.
As you can see, this is a spectacular and significant piece of holiday décor. It’s breathtaking and I found it difficult to pack it away. I would have loved to had kept it out, but my family thought I was nuts over the mere suggestion of keeping it out for the next few months. I personally wouldn’t have minded.
This piece (as well as others from Mr. Christmas) would not only make a great piece of holiday décor for your home, but it would also make a great gift. I’m thinking this would be wonderful for an elderly person who can’t really decorate that much, or even newly weds (to get them started on their holiday decorations) or first time home owners.
This is just one of the incredible pieces of holiday décor from Mr. Christmas. You can check them out at MrChristmas.com. If you are like me, you’ll want everything on the brand’s website. I especially love the animated things.
You can also find the brand on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
Do you own any Mr. Christmas pieces? Do you have a favorite? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts. I always love to hear from readers.
