What goes better on a hot summer day then an freezing cold ice cream treat? There is something about enjoying ice cream on a sunny summer day that brings out the kid in all of us.

Growing up it was a big treat to go and get ice cream. We had a small ice cream shop where I lived called Uel’s. Their ice cream was so good! I used to love to get the soft serve chocolate and vanilla mix on a cone, dipped in that chocolate “shell”. Oh yum! I could go for one right now.

Dairy Queen is a very popular destination for families who are out to enjoy one of summers best treats. Dairy Queen’s ice cream is also great year round. Years ago when my husband worked some what local to where we live I used to go to Dairy Queen to pick him up a Blizzard and bring it to his place of employment. It used to make his co-workers so jealous!

The Blizzards at Dairy Queen have come a long way since then. When I used to pick them up for my hubby there were only a few different options. These days there are so many to choose from that its next to impossible to narrow it down to just one. Now a days at Dairy Queen you can get Blizzards in such drooling inducing flavors as Banana Cream Pie, Chocolate Covered Strawberry, Turtle Pecan Cluster, Georgia Mud Fudge and Cappuccino Heath to name a few.

The Blizzard now comes in a new mini-size. Don’t let the size fool you. The new Mini Blizzard packs just as much sweet indulgence as the regular size. As a Mom I would rather my children have the mini size rather then the full size anyway. They are still getting all the ooey gooey goodness of the Blizzard but with less fat and calories.

This month’s Blizzard of the Month flavor is Oreo Brownie Earthquake. Mmmm…YUMMY!

Check out this silly video featuring the Mini Blizzard. I LOVE the kid’s reaction to what their Mom says. Ha Ha!

I find the video funny because it reminds me of me and my family. My husband HAS done something like that before (lick something) and I still take it from him. LOL!
