When my children were babies there was one thing they really enjoyed about their cribs – their mobiles. My daughter originally had a Dumbo mobile (which I purchased before she was born) but it was broken (I couldn’t return it). I hung it from the ceiling on a hanging plant hook because it was too cute to throw away.
A funny story (maybe I’ll go into it some day). My husband and I knew when our daughter had “visitors” (ghosts) because the broken mobile would turn on by it’s self. It was the wildest thing!
We eventually purchased our daughter another mobile and when my son came along we bought him one too. I think all babies need a mobile for their cribs.
I guess there is something very soothing and calming about watching adorable little plush things whirl around their heads that babies really enjoy. The only downside is that you constantly have to keep rewinding them. Plus the mobiles are only visible from the crib and not from any other part of the room.
Let me introduce you to a new twist on mobiles. It’s called Fandangling. Fandangling are plush pieces that turn any CEILING FAN into a fun and captivating mobile! Now there are no more worries about constantly having to rewind the mobile. You just have to turn on the switch to your ceiling fan and the Fandangling will spin round and round until you flip the switch.
These fun, colorful and whimsical Fandangling sets are a fun way to decorate a child’s room too.
Fandanglings are available in styles and designs for both boys and girls including butterflies, bugs, puppies, ocean creatures and even Christmas designs.
I was thrilled when I was given the opportunity to try out Fandangling for myself. We were sent the holiday set (perfect for this time of year!). The set includes small plush pieces including a candy cane, reindeer, Santa, snowman and gingerbread man. The pieces are only a few inches in size and oh-so-cute!
Each piece has a “string” (for lack of a better description) on them and a Velcro piece on the end. What you need to do is attach the other piece of Velcro on top of your fan blade and then attach the plush piece. I needed my husband’s help with this because there was no way I was getting my big old butt up on a chair to try and reach the fan. The whole process was very easy and took just minutes.
I was concerned that they little plushies would fly off the fan when we turned it on but they didn’t. In fact we played around and put the fan on high and they stayed on as well. The Velcro makes them very secure. As an added bonus the Velcro makes it easy to swap out the set for another set.
There IS a video of the Fandangling pieces, but, it got a bit silly so I’m not sure if I should show it. My daughter was OVERLY tired from being on a sleep over the night before. For some odd reason she found the reindeer very amusing and was laughing hysterically (pretty much to tears) over it. The reindeer hangs so that when you are looking at it from underneath he’s facing you. It’s SUPPOSE to be like that but my kids found it amusing that he was hanging with his “butt” up in the air. Kids… they find the weirdest things amusing.
Here is a picture of took of a couple of the pieces on the fan so you get an idea of their size. PLEASE disregard the dust! Who knew it would show up THAT MUCH on a photo. Sheesh! How ceiling fans get so dusty when they are always moving I’ll never know. Since taking this picture I had to dust off the fans and the Fandanglings. How embarrassing!
I think this is such a fun and unique idea. These would make a great addition to a baby or child’s room. Judging by my own kids they found the Fandangling very amusing.
