Do you find that your day starts off great and you are full of energy, only to find yourself dragging along in the afternoon? That seems to be way things are for me each and every day. I’m not much of a morning person but at least I can function. Come 1 PM (give or take) I am dragging. At times I even feel like I totally can’t function. I’ve been known to take naps in the afternoon just to give myself a little boost of energy.
Being anemic doesn’t help matters any. I am both Iron and B-12 Anemic and require shots and infusions. Sadly I don’t get them as often as I should due to a cruddy insurance plan. That is why I need to find other ways of boosting my energy throughout the day.
I do take supplements to help give me energy. I don’t like energy drinks like Red Bull or Monster. I think they taste gross. Plus I don’t want to experience “crash and burn”.
I do drink a cup of coffee first thing in the morning and sometimes I will go for a second cup in the afternoon, or even have a cup of tea. Sometimes it helps, other times it doesn’t. Sadly sometimes it’s just not convenient to grab a cup of coffee or tea, especially if you are on the go or in a meeting.
I happened across something called Foosh Energy Mints not too long ago while surfing the Internet. The idea of an energy mint was intriguing. I love mints and it would certainly be more convenient then toting around a cup of coffee. Plus they don’t have to be kept refrigerated and they take up very little space in your purse or pocket.
Vroom Foods (love the name!), the company who makes Foosh Energy Mints was kind enough to send me some mints to review.
The first thing I noticed about the Foosh Energy Mints is that they are VERY strong mints. Probably one of the strongest mints I’ve ever tried. I think that alone is enough to “wake you up”. LOL!
The next thing I noticed about the mints is that they have a gritty texture. I found that to be very odd. They were not smooth at all. Shortly after you start to suck on them they get very bumpy and gritty.
Between the gritty texture and very strong minty taste I was a bit put off by them to begin with, but I stuck with it to see if I noticed any burst in energy. The first time I tried the mints I didn’t notice any changes.
As with any review I try a product out several times to give it a fair chance to work it’s magic.
After I tried the mints a few more times I didn’t really mind the grittiness anymore and I got used to the strong mint taste.
As far as energy is concerned it was hit or miss. Sometimes I think they did give me a boost in energy, other times they didn’t seem to make much of a difference. It’s possible there are contributing factors. I sometimes have a hard time sleeping at night. Maybe being overly tired doesn’t help.
Each Foosh Energy Mint is equal to 1 cup of coffee. They are available in tins (12 mints) and their cardboard packs have six mints. The mints are rather large in size too.
Foosh Energy Mints are made with a blend of energy producing ingredients; Caffeine, Ginseng, B Vitamins and Taurine. These energy producing ingredients are known to increase endurance and stimulate metabolism too.
I’m on the fence with these. Like I mentioned earlier in this post, sometimes it seemed as if the mints helped to give me a bit of a boost to get through my day, other times they didn’t. I guess you’ll need to judge for yourself.
