Do you enjoy wearing make up? To be honest, I am not a fan. However, I feel as though I need to wear make up so that I don’t look like the “walking dead.” At the very least I need to wear mascara, otherwise my eyes just look sunken and lifeless.
Without make up on the rest of my face, I look dull and “lifeless.”
Wearing make up is not something I do for society. I have come to a point in my life where I simply don’t care what others think about me. Like me, hate me. I leave it up to you. I wear make up so that “I” feel like “I” look good.
I tend to go for make up that serves a dual purpose. That way getting ready for work is quick and easy. I don’t know how people can spend 30-60 minutes getting ready to leave the house. That’s crazy!
To give you an example, I use a tinted sunscreen. That way I get some color on my face, and I get protection from the sun.
I recently had the opportunity to try out some make up from the brand BOOM! by Cindy Joseph. BOOM make up can be used in more than one way, meaning you don’t need to lug around a huge make up bag where ever you go. Instead, all you need are 2-3 compact tubes.
Here is more information about the brand;
Boomstick Trio (SRP: $79) is the ultimate multitasking beauty product. Three little, easy-to-carry Boomsticks can replace everything in her makeup bag… use them as blush, lipstick, eyeshadow, highlighter, moisturizer, cuticle cream, body cream, body luster, and much more.
Designed to give you that look of health, vitality, happiness and joy in just 5-minutes.
Start with Boomstick Glo to moisturize your face with all-natural ingredients direct from the beehive. Then you can apply Boomstick Color to your cheeks, forehead, neck, and décolleté. And finally, you can add a little glamour to your skin with Boomstick Glimmer.
Boomstick Trio is perfect for all skin tones and easy-to-use when you are on-the-go.
I really like the Boomstick Glo. It’s clear and lightweight. It also has a bit of a “glow” (or should I say “glo”) to it.
I use this stick on dry spots on my face (patches here and there). I have even applied it to dry patches on my skin (like my elbow). So far, so good. It does a nice job addition much needed moisture.
I have also used this on my lips at a lip moisturizer. It also has a lip gloss appearance to it, so it serves a duo purpose as far as that is concerned.
It’s hard to see it in the photo (above). I tried to move my hand around so you can see the shine, but it wasn’t working. You can tell that it’s sheer, so you won’t really see it when you use it, but it does add some “glow” to your skin/lips.
The Boomstick Color I think is just a little too dark for my skin type. That’s just my opinion. I happen to be VERY pale (I think “Casper the Ghost” has more color than I do – ha ha).
I have tried it as a lipstick, but I am not really a lipstick wearing person, so it didn’t feel natural to me. I only wear lip moisturizer and/or a lip gloss that is lightly tinted. The color in this stick really “pops,” so it just didn’t look right on me.
I did try it as a blush. I used my blender sponge to blend it in, but it still seemed a little too dark for my skin. That’s okay. It didn’t go to waste. My daughter has a darker complexion (olive skin tone) and she wears lipstick, so she’s been putting it to good use.
I really like the Boomstick Glimmer. It’s a bit of a dark color too, but not as bad.
I use this stick as a highlighter on my cheeks and nose. I have also used it as eye shadow.
You can use these on your body too, so I have used it on my shoulders when I’ve worn “cold shoulder” tops. I have also put some around my collar bone area.
It’s the one pictured above, however, the photo makes it look TOO shiny/glowing. It doesn’t look that bright in person. It’s just the photo. I also didn’t blend it in as well as I normally do. I simply wiped it across the top of my hand for the photo. When you blend it in, it looks more natural.
The Boomstick Color is the one on the other side of my hand. You can sort of make it out. That one was not blended in either. I just wiped it across the back of my hand for the photo.
The Boomsticks are not that big. I’d say they are a wee bit bigger than an average sized lipstick tube. That means they can easily be carried in your purse, luggage, backpack and gym bag. There is no need to lug around a lot of make up when you have three portable sticks that serve more than one purpose.
With a lot of people traveling this summer, I’m sure reducing the size of your luggage and carryon is a must, so replacing much of your make up in favor of Boomsticks makes perfect sense.
