I remember many years ago when Spongebob Squarepants appeared on television. I honestly thought it sounded really stupid and I refused to watch it. My kids really enjoyed the show. One day my husband watched an episode and he was hooked too. It took a long time after that before I watched my first few episodes of Spongebob. I don’t know why I was so reluctant to watch the show. I found it to be very funny.
I know how a family of Spongebob fans. I think my husband and I watch Spongebob more so then my kids do.
Spongebob is silly, funny, sometimes gross… over all fun to watch. Spongebob has fans both young and old.
If you are a fan of Spongebob Squarepants and his friends in Bikini Bottom then you might be interested in a new DVD collection that will be available on November 15, 2011 called Holidays with Spongebob.
Holidays with Spongebob is a 3-pack of DVDs featuring Spongebob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Squidward, Sandy and all the other Bikini Bottom characters. Each DVD has a different theme; Christmas, Halloween and Valentines.
When I first received the DVD I thought that ALL of the episodes on each DVD pertained to a specific holiday. That is not the case. For example on the Spongebob Squarepants Christmas DVD there is only one Christmas episode. However several other episodes on the DVD have a Winter theme to them, so they sort of fit into the holiday theme. Snowball Effect and Survival of the Idiots have to do with Winter.
The Halloween DVD has more Halloween or “scary” episodes than the Christmas DVD. This DVD features Scaredy Pants, Frankendoodle and Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost.
The Valentine DVD only really features one Valentine (Love) related episode called To Love a Patty.
Personally I don’t mind. I totally understand that there are not enough Christmas, Halloween or Valentines episodes made to fill up an entire DVD, so it’s OK if they include other episodes.
I really enjoyed the DVD collections because it was great to see some of my favorites as well as episodes I’ve never seen before.
If you are familiar with the episodes, this is the breakdown for each DVD.

My husband and my kid’s favorite Spongebob episode is called Chocolate with Nuts. That episode is on the Christmas DVD. I don’t know why that is their favorite but every time they see it they laugh hysterically. I think it’s the old lady that they find most amusing.
Each DVD has it’s own holiday case. All three are packaged together in a sturdy cardboard sleeve featuring Spongebob and a gift tag you could write on.
All three DVDs have bonus features including a music videos, a sneak peek at a Spongebob video game, an episode’s storyboard and more.
If you are looking for a gift for a Spongebob Squarepants fan, young or old, then the Holidays with Spongebob DVD collection would make the perfect gift.
