How to get the perfect shave & save $$$ too (Giveaway ends 10/23/12)

I’m not a guy (obviously). And thank goodness I’m not. The idea of having to shave every day (or every other day) is horrible. My husband dislikes shaving. He would let a beard grow in if his job allowed it. Not to mention there is no way I would be happy with a bead either. I like his face soft, smooth and hair free.

My teenage son has a moustache now too. It’s not a overly obvious one. It just looks like he was drinking chocolate milk and didn’t do a good job wiping his face. 🙂 The idea of my 13 year old with facial hair is just plain weird. He’ my “baby”. My baby shouldn’t have to be shaving (my other “baby” will be driving soon…ugh!).

My husband often nicks himself. I often wonder if he’s shaving wrong or using the wrong razor and/or shaving cream. He blames it on his thick facial hair. I just think he doesn’t want to admit he might be doing something wrong. Ha! Men! LOL!

I was watching this video on how to properly shave. I can see now that my husband is doing it all wrong. The video is below. You should check it out.

It looks easy enough. I don’t think that doing it this way (the right way) will take any more time then the way my hubby already shaves.

  7. i have an electric razor and i shave in the car on my way to work…i know it’s not the best but i run out of time in the morning

  9. I always use shaving cream for women on my legs prior to shaving, I’ve found that by shaving every 2 days it keeps up on it so it doesn’t take as long, then after I am done shaving I use body wash on my legs which helps keep the inflammation down to a minimum. Please don’t ever shave dry.

  12. I always shave in the shower, at the very end. My fiance has to shave every day because his beard grows so fast!

  13. I shave in the shower, but once winter comes and I don’t wear shorts any more my legs only get shaved about every other week.

  17. My husband only shaves about every 2.5 days. He refuses to do so more often because of the bumps he gets. I’m guessing he probably does it incorrectly lol.

  18. I shave in the shower and use my soapy body wash daily. It’s fast and I hardly knick myself!

  20. I use an electric shaver most of the time, and only use a razor when I want a good close shave. I desperately want laser surgery because shaving is something I HATE to do!

  24. I find that a good quality bath/ shower gel can replace shaving gel when shaving your legs in the shower.

  26. I use hair conditioner as a shaving lubricator for my legs in the shower. It really works well!

  34. I always shave while showering. I’ll usually do it after I put conditioner in my hair so that my conditioner can saturate my hair while I shave. I have even found that some conditioners make great shaving cream!

  35. I dont really have a shaving ritual, except for making sure my razor is sharp and changing it often

  36. Shaving in the shower works for me, but it drives my husband nuts! He only shaves at the sink. Both of us use gel shaving cream and he uses aftershave.

Here is the truth , During summer I shave very often like 3 or 4 times a week, I usually do it in the shower and even though I buy tons of shaving gel/cream I like to use conditioner, for some reason, my legs are smoother with it but it has to be Herbal Essences Color me Happy conditioner, its probably just my crazy thinking, I know. Now, during Winter, If I shave twice during the week is a big deal, usually I only do it once per week. Lazy? Maybe, one thing I noticed is that hair doesn’t grow as fast during that time of the year, so why over do the shaving.

  68. I hate the mess left after my husband shaves, he tries to clean up but doesn’t always see all the little whiskers.

  70. Shaving ritual sounds so funny, but considering how rarely I shave my legs it should be a shaving holiday. But, what I do every time is use a good razor and shave after I have been in the hot shower a while (to soften the hair) and I always apply body wash liberally to my legs before hand and lotion after my shower.

  78. I usually take a shower and shave and then sometimes after that I will fill up a bubble bath and soak for a while. So relaxing. I shave my underarms everyday and my legs, every other day. I just feel cleaner with everything shaved and smooth..lol Have a good day and ty for the giveaway! 🙂

  114. I have found that using hair conditioner as a shaving lotion on your legs works pretty well in a pinch. Not as good as a proper shaving gel or cream but OK.

  119. My husband shaves his head usually about every 7 days. It’s quite a process for him and he likes to use the best disposable razor but they can get kind of pricey. I bet the Gillette Mach3 would be great.

  120. I sometimes shave my legs after my shower, but usually during. I usually shave my legs twice a week, but more in the summer/spring. I shave my underarms every other day. I use venus and schick razors.

  134. I love balancing on one foot while trying to find a secure spot to prop up my foot so I can shave my leg.

  136. Shaving? What’s that? Haha. I’m a slacker. But when I do shave, I use a Venus razor that already has the shave gel bar on it, so no need for shaving cream!

  156. Well he shaves in the shower at least once a week. Uses shaving cream before and lotion right after.

  157. I shave with baby oil, it keeps my razors sharper for longer and it gives me added moisture.

  192. I hate shaving but I shave every other day in the shower with a shaving cream or conditioner! thanks!

  194. I have dark hair, which causes my underarms to appear dirty and dark. To combat this, I exfoliate with a loofa and sometimes a pumice stone. I shave with a very nice 4 blade razor and moisturizing cream. I then shave down, the normal way, and rinse. Then, I shave up, getting all the little hairs I missed! followed with Dove deodorant after the shower.

  202. I always put a warm facecloth on my legs after shaving and then a cool facecloth. For some reason it makes my legs feel so soft and pampered.

  203. I shave my legs in the shower, usually every three days, and sometimes use conditioner as shaving lotion. But always lotion up after shaving.
