Living in a condo we have had our fair share of pests. Mostly it comes from noisy neighbors (ha ha). Actually I’m referring more so to ants and miscellaneous creepy crawlies. We also have a squirrel that we affectionately refer to “Psycho Squirrel” who loves to sit on my balcony and tease our cats and dog. 🙂
We are hoping (and praying) to move into a house in the near future. I’m sure with a house comes more responsibilities (we’ll have to shovel snow and mow the lawn). I know that pests are also a possibility. We want to move where I was born and raised – upstate in the country. Growing up we had a variety of pests in our home from snakes to birds, and from field mice to miscellaneous pests like crickets and frogs.
Snakes… well that is another story in it’s self. May we never have to deal with them because my husband is afraid of them which would leave me having to deal with it.
I’m hoping we don’t have a problem with mice. It’s not that I don’t feel sorry for them. I know they just need food and a warm place to sleep. But they can be VERY destructive and cause a lot of damage.
We have five cats. I’d like to think we have a “natural” mouse trap. I’m actually hoping that the cats scare mice away. I wouldn’t want to set traps for them. If I have to I will because I don’t want them causing damage or spreading disease.
A company that knows all too well about pest control is having a sweepstakes that I think people might be interested, especially because it’s easy to enter and first prize is $500. With the holidays approaching I’m sure most people can put that $500 to good use.
The company is called Victor Pest. The great thing about this company is that their products are made in the USA. I appreciate companies, big or small, who DON’T outsource their business and keep jobs here in the United States.
Victor makes a variety of pest control products, including Victor mouse traps, to help rid your home and yard of mice, rats, gophers and moles. I forgot about moles. We had them too growing up. They can really mess up your yard.
What I like about Victor (aside from their American made products) is that they DO offer humane pest control options. I’m not keen on traditional traps that kill an animal. As the “mom” to five cats, a dog and some fish, I have a hard time killing a living creature. Victor has traps that WON’T kill the critter that is captures, allowing you to set it free elsewhere (far from your home). They do offer less humane traps too. I can understand people using them as well. Not everyone wants to deal with a live mouse.
Victor is having a special sweepstakes called Made in the USA. All you need to do is enter in your name, mailing address, e-mail, birth date (to make sure you are not a minor) and phone number. If you have used Victor products before you have the option of commenting on your experience (optional). That’s it! That is all you have to do for your chance to win $500.
You can increase your chances of winning too! Simply upload a photo of yourself with your favorite Victor product, a photo of a creative craft that incorporates one of our Products or a photograph showing off your patriotism and you can earn an additional TWO entries. They even have a photo map where you can check out the photos that are currently entered.
For more information about the sweepstakes, or to enter, visit http://MadeintheUSA.VictorPest.com/Sweepstakes.html. For official sweepstakes rules please visit http://MadeintheUSA.VictorPest.com/Rules.html.
Seriously, this is a super easy sweepstakes to enter. You don’t have to “jump through hoops” like other sweepstakes, especially ones that want you to like this or vote for that. For this sweeps all you need to do is provide basic information (the same information all sweeps ask for). Personally I am going to enter. With an asthmatic cat with hyperthyroidism, two cats with urinary tract “issues” and a dog who needs to pay the vet a visit too, I can use all the $$$ I can get. I’m sure winning the $500 would help out a lot for vet bills, or even holiday shopping (teens can be expensive – ha ha).

If you enter – Good Luck! Let me know if you win.
