Now available on digital, is the final film in the Indiana Jones movie franchise, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
The film stars Harrison Ford (of course), Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Toby Jones, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Boyd Holbrook and Thomas Kretschmann. Look for some familiar faces too that make some surprised guest appearances.
Normally I write my own film synopsis, but there is so much going on with this film, I will rely on the official film synopsis.
Harrison Ford returns to the role of the legendary hero archaeologist for this highly anticipated final installment of the iconic franchise– a big, globe-trotting, rip-roaring cinematic adventure.
Indiana and his friend Basil Shaw are trying to intercept the Nazis taking some valuable antiques back to Germany. One item of interest turns out to be a fake, but they do discover something of tremendous value – half of the Dial of Destiny, which is an ancient Greek astronomical calendar created by Antikythera. It is believed that it can aid in time travel – which is something you don’t want in the hands of the wrong people.
Indiana and Shaw try to get the Dial of Destiny away from the Germans, but it gets lost in a river.
Fast forward decades later. Shaw’s daughter, Helena, shows up looking for the Dial of Destiny. She’s not the only one. Others are looking for it as well, and are convinced that Indiana Jones has it and is hiding it.
What ensues is a globe trotting adventure to protect the half of the found Dial of Destiny from being reunited with the missing half. Once combined, whomever holds the dial would have the ability to travel through time, which could ultimately change the course of history as we know it.

I really regret not seeing this film while it was in theaters. Indiana Jones films are always best on the big screen, but of course you fully enjoy it on your television at home too.
The action starts off right away at the opening of this film. The action is pretty much non-stop from start to finish. God bless Harrison Ford for being able to do all the physical stunts where a stunt double was not possible. I’m lucky if I can get out of bed in the morning, let alone the stuff Harrison Ford does in this film, and he’s 81 years “young.”
I’d like to say that this story line is a bit far fetched, but it’s an Indiana Jones film, so nothing is too outlandish or crazy.
It was great to see some old faces in this film too. I don’t want to say “who,” because I don’t want to spoil the surprise.
The story line was decent, and the action was nothing less than what you’d expect from an Indiana Jones film.
I have seen all five Indiana Jones films. Nothing beats the original. My next favorite used to be the second film in the series. The third and forth films were horrible (in my opinion). The film makers redeemed themselves with this film. It has now movies up into my second favorite Indiana Jones film slot.
I don’t know when the film will be released on Blu-ray or DVD. I will update this post as soon as I know. I Googled it, but I cannot find any information on the upcoming release date.
