October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This annual international health campaign was created to help increase awareness of this horrible disease, help raise funds to aid in research, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and hopefully one day a cure.
Did you know that men can get breast cancer too? My grandfather had his left breast removed due to breast cancer. Breast cancer can strike young and and old, men and women. No one is immune from this disease.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month people like to show their support by wearing Breast Cancer Awareness clothing and jewelery as well as using Breast Cancer Awareness products like mugs, pens and mouse pads.

I think it would be a nice idea to purchase several products and give them to someone special as a gift basket. Perhaps someone who is a Breast Cancer survivor or someone who is currently dealing with the disease.
Don’t forget to check yourself monthly (men too!) and schedule for your mammograms. I know they are not the most pleasant thing in the world (trust me, I know!) but when it’s a matter of life or death you can deal with a few minutes of being uncomfortable.
