A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I am working with Arnold®/Brownberry®/Oroweat® on their “Feed Your Better” campaign. If you would like to check out that post you can find it here – I’m an Arnold®/Brownberry®/Oroweat® Brand Ambassador!
In my first post I included a tip from the brand’s ambassador, Allison Sweeny. Allison is known for her parts on Days of Our Lives and The Biggest Loser.
The first tip I shared a couple of weeks ago was;
Tip #1 – Feel your best with better food. Find meals that go the distance, like a well-built sandwich. Sandwiches make it easy to get the nutritional benefits that will help you feel great. Try Arnold®/Brownberry®/Oroweat® 100% Whole Wheat Bread topped with lean protein and veggies to help boost your performance during a workout.
Here is another tip from Allison.
Tip #2 – Find ways to stay active in your everyday life. Some weeks, I exercise daily and others, I work out as many days as I can! During these busy times, I try to find ways to incorporate physical activity into my schedule, like running around outside with my kids or going for a family hike. Spending quality time with friends and family while staying active allows you to feed your better in more than one way.
For the longest time I have toyed with the idea of walking first thing in the morning after I put my kids on the school bus. My “game plan” was to drive back from the bus stop, park my car and go for a brisk 15-20 minute walk BEFORE heading back upstairs to our condo. Once I’m inside and I sit down to have my coffee and get started on work I lose motivation. I do go out in the afternoon to walk our dog, but that is not a brisk walk. He’s too busy stopping every two feet to “mark his territory”. I take him for a walk to do his business for the most part.
I have thought about the morning walks for the longest time. Being on this “Feed Your Better” campaign with Arnold®/Brownberry®/Oroweat® has given me the “push” to stop thinking about the morning walk and DO IT! So for the past two weeks I have made a conscious effort to take a brisk 15+ minute walk in the morning after I put my kids on the bus. I haven’t done it every day (I was battling a bad cold for a few days) but at least I have put my plan in motion and that is what matters most. Now I just have to strive to try and do it at least every school day (weather permitting of course).
Arnold®/Brownberry®/Oroweat® wants consumers to think about how to “Feed Your Better”. You can achieve this by eating better, feeling better and being better.

Live is short so we should all strive to have the best life we possibly can, whether it’s spending quality time with our family, feeling accomplished in your career, being healthy, looking good and feeling good. Whatever would make your life better – go for it!
For me it’s looking and feeling better. I’ve been battling my weight all my life. I know when I am at a comfortable weight (about 75 pounds less than I am currently at) I feel better about myself. I also think I look better. When I look and feel good my confidence and self esteem grows by leaps and bounds. That is why I am actively making sure to “Feed My Better”.
Like Allison suggests I want to be more active. That is one of my goals. Not only to exercise and eat right but also to do more active things like joining a club or a group, or maybe volunteering somewhere.
Of course I won’t have the energy to do anything active if I don’t eat right and make healthier choices. That is why I have swapped out the breads we normally ate with Arnold®/Brownberry®/Oroweat® breads (they are called Arnold® here in New York where I live).
One bread I’m really starting to like is Arnold® Healthy Multi-Grain bread. I have to admit it took me a little bit to get used to it. It’s dark in color and the grains are very visible. It’s unlike anything I’ve had before, except in fancy restaurants.
I’ve made French Toast for me and my family using this bread. My family was a bit “iffy” about it too but once they tried my French Toast they didn’t think twice about how different the bread looked.
I use just egg whites to dip the bread in (not the whole egg). After I am done making the French Toast I sprinkle it with my “secret weapon” – Watkins Cinna-Cream Sprinkles. The add a cinnamon and vanilla taste to the French Toast. My family gobbles it up!
This bread is also great toasted with a bit of my Black Cherry & Grape homemade jelly. 🙂 Mmmm!!!
Once my family got used to how “different” the bread looked and saw the creative ways I served it to them they learned to like it right away.
Arnold® Healthy Multi-Grain bread contains;
- No high fructose corn syrup
- No artificial colors or flavors
- 18g whole grains per serving
It’s a great way to start your day – along with some physical activity.

I’m with you on this. I met with a RD and a trainer last week. What she said is inspiring to help with this goal – for both my son and I.
What a great way to try and get people motivated to go after their goal whatever it is. I would love to get moving more! I just need to get healthy before I can start doing anything. I am hoping once I get my back fixed I can actually get moving.
This is a great motivation for anyone that wants to loose weight. It is always nice to have someone with the same goal as you so that you can also help each other to stay motivated.
I preach this as a nurse and former nutrition counselor. It’s not expensive since just walking is a great way to start. Hopefully people take some time as well to unplug and connect to nature–a good dual message for “Your Better”.
Great post I’ve been really thinking about getting more active. I do watch what I eat and tried to eat the healthier choices like this kind of bread.
