Now playing in select theaters, and on VOD (Video on Demand) is the film One More Time.
One More Time stars Christopher Walken, Amber Heard, Kelli Garner, Hamish Linklater, Oliver Platt and Ann Magnuson.
Amber Heard stars as Jude, a talented and aspiring rock star who is down on her luck. Instead of playing with a band and making albums she is stuck making commercial jingles. In addition, Jude often finds herself having “one night stands” with random men.
When Jude finds herself evicted from her apartment she has no other choice but return home to live with her father and stepmother. It also means that she’ll have to deal with her sister and her husband who happens to be one of Jude’s ex’s.
Jude’s father in Paul (Walken). He used to have a great career as a crooner. He’s a very wealthy man who thinks they live in the “slums” of the Hamptoms because their house isn’t on the beach (it’s a huge, gorgeous house that anyone would be thrilled to own and live in).
Paul also wants to make a comeback. He feels like his singing career is not quite over yet.
As if Jude’s life wasn’t already a mess, now she has to deal with her sister, her ex lover (and sister’s husband), a stepmother no one really likes and her crazy father. She must confront her problems head on if she wants to find her way in this world and achieve her dreams.
Will she succeed? To find out you need to download a copy of One More Time or check it out in your local theater (if it’s playing near you).
To be honest, I always see Christoper Walken as a goof ball. He’s very weird, so I wasn’t sure how I’d like him in this film. To be honest, his quirkiness only adds to his role of Paul. His real life personality only added to the character. I think the film makers were spot on when they cast him in this role.
I’ve heard of Amber Heard before, but I have never seen anything she was in until now. I was impressed. She has that “angst” thing down perfectly. She’s also a good singing voice.
Sometimes I don’t expect much to movies that go straight to DVD or VOD, however this one was one of the exceptions. It’s an enjoyable film. It’s not the kind of film that will have you on the edge of your seat with heart stopping action. Not at all. It is however a relaxed, laid back, funny, sweet film that will entertain you. Dare I say that even Christopher Walken – as odd as he is – will surprise you in this film. He was a joy to watch.
One More Time is not rated and has a run time of 97 minutes.
