I am not sure if many people are aware of this or not, but this coming Saturday, May 19th, is National Kids to Parks Day.
The whole idea behind National Kids to Parks Day is remind families about how special parks can be. There is so much to do at parks such as hiking, swimming. ride a canoe or paddle boat, picnic, explore the wildlife and much more.
Not only does visiting national parks a great way to get your family outside in some fresh air, it’s also great for exercise, re-connecting with your children, decompressing from the daily stresses in your life and showing your children that there is much more to life then cell phones and video games.
Many states and communities are holding local events. Check out the National Park Trust site for local events in celebration of National Kids to Parks Day.

One of my familie’s favorite things to do at national parks, or any park for that matter, is have a picnic. Then we like to walk around and enjoy nature at it’s finest, not to mention take A LOT of photos too. 🙂
Will your family be participating in National Kids to Parks Day on Saturday? If so I would love to know what you are going to do. Are you going to hike, boat, picnic or just sit under a shady tree and lavish in the beauty of nature?
