My kids are CRAZY over these silly, inexpensive, colorful rubber bracelets that come in a variety of shapes and colors. From zoo animals to farm animals and from dinosaurs to even Major League Baseball teams, these bracelets come in so many different shapes.
Googly Bands are literally flying off the store shelves. No sooner do stores get a shipment in they are gone by the end of the day. Trust me – I know! I have made several trips to local card stores and Walgreens to pick up some packages for my kids because I was told they were in stock, only to get to the store and find out they were all sold out of the Googly Bands.

Googly Bands are traded at school much like Baseball cards were traded back in the day (yes, showing my true age). My kids keep asking me to hunt down specific shapes. It seems like each day there is a new hot, “must have” Googly Band design.
I love that the Googly Bands come in fun shapes and bright colors. They are also great for both boys and girls. At first I thought Googly Bands would appeal only to girls but I have seen some boys around town with the Googly Bands going up both arms.
Googly Bands are affordable, roughly around $1.00 per package. Some places do inflate the prices a bit (like the card store across the street from us) because they know they are a “must have” item and parents are willing to pay more in order to make their kids happy.
Isn’t it amazing how the silliest thing can become such a huge hit? These are just thin, rubber band type bands that come in different shapes and the kids like to wear them as bracelets. They remind me a lot of the round rubber bracelets we used to wear in the 80’s, compliments of Madonna.
Googly Bands is having a Googly Band Design Contest. The top ten band designs will be posted on GooglyBands.com and fans will be able to vote for their top three choices. The company that makes Googly Bands, Imperial Toys, will select the final winning design and the winner will receive a $50 gift card as well as possibly seeing their design turned into an actual Googly Band.

If you happen across these things you might want to stock up. They might just be the new “Zhu Zhu Pets” (remember that craze last Christmas?).
