I am super excited to announce that The Peanuts Movie will be available on Blu-ray and DVD tomorrow, March 8, 2016. The film is currently available on Digital HD.
Ever since I learned about the movie and saw teaser images and trailers for it, I knew I had to see the film the moment it was released in theaters. I don’t normally see films on opening day (too crowded) but for this film I made the exception.
I have always been a fan of the Peanuts gang – Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Snoopy, Woodstock, Sally, Pig Pen, Peppermint Patty, Marci… I love them all!
I still have Peanuts books from when I was a young girl (decades ago!). We also never miss the opportunity to see their holiday specials when they are on television (we also have them all on Blu-ray and/or DVD).
I love that the filmmakers stayed true to the Peanuts characters as far as how they looked, acted and spoke. There was no “re-booting” of the characters.
In The Peanuts Movie Charlie Brown gets a new neighbor – the little red-headed girl. If you are a Peanuts fan you know exactly who she is.
Charlie Brown is determined to get her attention in hope that she will like him too. He sets out to try new things in hopes of impressing her.
At first he tries out for the talent show. He had a very good act but when he saw his sister Sally having a difficult time with her act, he sacrificed his opportunity to impress the little red-headed girl by helping out his sister.
Charlie Brown’s next attempt is to learn how to dance so he could show off his skills at the school dance. He even has his dear friend Snoopy teach him a few dance moves.
On the night of the big dance something happens and Charlie Brown is unable to show off his moves to the little red-headed girl.
It seems like the world is against him and nothing goes right for him as far as getting the attention of the little red-headed girl.
On a side story, Snoopy and Woodstock are writing a book about the Red Baron. While writing the book Snoopy and Woodstock are transported back into time where they encounter not only the Red Baron but also a beautiful female pilot.
Will Charlie Brown ever get the attention of the little red-headed girl? If he does, will she like him as much as he likes her? And what about Snoopy – will he ever destroy the dastardly Red Baron and win the heart of the lovely female pilot? To find out you need to pick up a copy of The Peanut Movie tomorrow (March 8, 2016) where ever movies are sold (or purchase it on Digital HD).
We LOVED this movie. I cannot wait to get a copy of the film so we can watch it again.
The characters are super adorable in this film. They were always cute, but the way the animators did them in this film really brought the characters alive. They are more cuter than ever!
I’ve never been a fan of the whole Red Barron story line (even in their Halloween special), but the film makers did a good job with it in this film. It wasn’t the main story line in the film (just a small part), which was nice. They did a good job with that story line to make it more interesting than in the Halloween special.
The film made me fall in love with the Peanuts characters all over again, most especially Charlie Brown. I wanted to reach into the screen and give him a hug! Poor Charlie Brown. Nothing ever seems to go his way.
