I love reviewing beauty products. It’s a fabulous way to learn about, and try out, products I might not otherwise know about or have a chance to try.
Now that I am getting older I have the same worries as many women – wrinkles, fine lines and keeping my skin looking fresh and youthful.
I can’t stop the hands of time, but I can do my best to keep my appearance looking as good as I can. I am not one for plastic surgery or injections so I need to find other ways to ward off the inevitable signs of aging.
I always thought that being overweight would help me when it came to wrinkles and fine lines. Since I have a lot of fat in my face it used to keep my face plump and wrinkle free. Sadly that is not the case anymore. As time goes by I see more and more lines that were not there before.
I don’t have wrinkles, per say, but I do have some seriously deep lines around my mouth that bother me.
I also have issues with skin elasticity. The area under my neck is not as firm as it used to be. It’s saggy and that really bothers me.
I was recently sent two interesting products from a company called Phyto-C. I have never heard of the brand until now.

With the Phyto-C B5 Gel I received tiny little vials (trial size) instead of a bottle. With the Velvet Gel I received the bottle like the one picutred.
The products can be used together.
A little bit goes a long way with both products. They have an oil-like consistency. I just put a few drops on my fingers and gently rubbed it into my skin.
In hindsight I should have tried each product individually for a week or so, that way I could see how each product really is. I used both products together so I’m not sure which one worked the best, or they both worked just as well combined.
I have a hard time with before/after skin pictures. My camera doesn’t do close up photos (I don’t have a micro lens for my Nikon). So the only option I have is my phone. The phone is “OK” but its hard to get a clear enough close up picture.
Here is a photo taken earlier this year and one taken recently.
Neither picture was “touched up” (if it was I wouldn’t have those wrinkles around my mouth -I’d smooth those out). I also don’t wear much make up (mostly just face powder, eye liner and mascara).
In the picture taken earlier this year I appear to be “washed out” looking. I look like I haven’t slept in days. LOL!
In the most recent picture my skin looks a lot better. I still have those darn wrinkles near my mouth but the rest of my skin looks to be more subtle and youthful in appearance, don’t you think? Dare I say my skin even glows a bit in the more recent picture?
I know that my skin feels soft – velvety soft. I also don’t have any dry patches which is something that has plagued me for years. I tend to get dry spots on my cheeks and near my eyes. I haven’t experienced that since using the Phyto-C products. Even my husband says that my cheeks feel soft.
So far I am very pleased with the results. As I said earlier, I don’t know if the combination of both products are to thank, or if one product works a bit better than the other. All I know is that I am happy with how I look these days.
Now if only I could get rid of the gray in my hair. 🙂
Phyto-C B5 retails for $35 and the Velvet Gel retails for $65. Since you need very little one bottle should last a very long time.

You can also find the brand on Facebook and Pinterest.
Have you tried any of the products from Phyto-C? If so, which one/ones? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
