We love animals. If it was possible we’d probably have a farm or a zoo. 🙂 Currently we have five cats, a dog and some fish. We refer to them as our “mini zoo”. If/When we settle into a the new house we MIGHT look into another dog, not only as a companion for our dog Espn (pronounced Es-pin) but also for protection. Would-be burglars are more likely to be scared off by a big dog than a little dog. My only concern about that is the added expense.
Pets can be expensive. We should know. Two of our cats have health issues (severe Asthma and Diabetes). When you factor in vet visits, specialists and medication on top of food, litter, and other supplies, it can be costly.
One pet necessity is dog poop bags. Cleaning up after your dog is not a pleasant experience, but its something all dog owners need to do. Unless you live in the woods or something were the dog poop wouldn’t matter.
With the hustle and bustle of every day life sometimes I forget to pick up more dog poop bags. We never realize we’re out of them until the dog does his “business” and we go to grab a bag from the holder and there are no bags inside. My kids are also infamous for not refilling the bag holder.
I keep a supply of grocery bags on hand just in case we run out of dog poop bags. I try and make a mental note of when I need to pick up more but I always forget.
There is a service available for dog owners that will help you out. It’s called Poop Buddy. It’s a silly name, but an ingenious idea.
Poop Buddy is simply a service that ships to you every month a supply of dog poop bags.
There are three different subscription options – monthly (one month at a time), 3 months (10% discount) and 6 months (20% discount). If you purchased the six month plan (for example) each month you will receive a month’s supply of dog poop bags. You don’t have to think about it or forget to pick some up at the store.
Aside from not having to worry about purchasing more bags, the bags from Poop Buddy are unlike any I have seen. Each month they send you a variety of bags, each with a different color, design and/or pattern. Let’s face it, picking up dog poop is not fun. At least the bags are fun to look at.
You don’t get a choice of designs/colors but that is OK with me. I’m pretty sure our male dog doesn’t care if I pick up his waste with a hot pink zebra print poop bag. Ha Ha.
According to the website the bags differ in composition. No bag is 100% plastic and all contain vegetable-based materials or natural ingredients. Natural ingredients include plant resin, corn starch and other oxo-biodegradable materials. That means these bags are a bit more better for our environment then other dog poop bags and a million times better than the plastic bags you get to carry your groceries home.
Each month you get 5 rolls which is enough for the average dog. They come tied together.
Here is a photo of the ones I received to review (one of the rolls is missing – hubby took it not knowing I hadn’t taken a picture of them yet).
As for the quality, we have no complaints. Some dog poop bags tear easily (gross!) and are a poor quality. Not the Poop Buddy bags. So far, so good! We haven’t had any issues with them whatsoever.
Simply for the convenience alone and not having to worry about running out of dog poop bags, I think Poop Buddy is a great service. The fun and colorful designs are a “bonus”.
This would be a great gift for a new pet owner or a new neighbor.
Poop Buddy also donates 10% of it’s sales to WWF and dog rescue charities.
If you would like to check them out for yourself visit PoopBuddy.com. You can also check out the brand on Facebook, Twitter and even Pinterest and Instagram.
You can save 50% off your first months subscription using the discount code – SHESCRIBESPB. This applies to ANY subscription.

If I still had a dog, I’d look into this. I’ll tell friends about it.
Thanks for spreading the word Sarah! 🙂
I like the designs on these poop bags. More sturdy and environmentally made better is great to. Dont have to worry about the bags tearing. thanks for the pictures
How cute! These look like they will make the job of leaning up after my dog on his walks a little more pleasant! Thanks!
How funny I had never heard of this site before. I love the name too funny. I am not sure if anyone else had this problem but there are some people in our neighborhood that don’t pick up after their dogs. I would love to catch who it is and hand them one of these bags LOL.
Maybe we need to create something for people to send their neighbors, like a “friendly reminder”. Great idea! 🙂

I like the name “Poo Buddy” better. That’s what I’ll call it anyway! I used to recycle my small plastic newspaper bags for this. Mine was a tiny Yorkie so the poo was minimal (lucky me).
These are so cute and I love that they deliver them to your door one less thing to try to remember I love it thanks for sharing this one. There are so many great choices in bags.
I don’t use this service but I do keep these bags on hand! They do make life easier!!
The designs on these are really cute. I use these types of bags all the time. I live downtown and there’s not very many options for where my dog can go to the bathroom. I have never used a service like this before because I’ve never heard of it. I may have to check it out though.
I love the designs and they sound like the strong kind. I have a bag holder on his leash to take every time,
