I consider myself a minimalist when it comes to make up. Frankly, I don’t like to wear it. I don’t like the way foundations weigh down my skin. For that reason, the moment I come home from work I’m in the bathroom washing all the make up off my face.
When it comes to make up, I use very little foundation, loose powder, eyeliner and mascara. Occasionally I’ll wear other make up products, but that depends on where I am going and what I am doing. I work with children so having a full face of make up is just silly. They don’t care if I’m wearing blush or eye shadow.
If there is one make up product I cannot live without is mascara. I NEED mascara, otherwise my eyes just look so “lost,” for lack of a better description too. I use eye liner too, mostly in the corner of my eyes. I saw a Tik Tok video a while back that said women in my eye group should only use eye liner on the corners of their bottom eye lids rather than line the entire lid. That is what I have been doing. I think I look okay.
My daughter is big into make up. She won’t leave the house if she’s not fully done up. She will spend an hour just putting her “face” on.
I have noticed that my daughter buys very expensive mascara from Sephora and Ulta. She’ll drop $30-$50 on mascara and think nothing of it. As for me, I look for whatever is on sale and/or the cheapest. I always assumed that whether your mascara cost $10 or $50 that they do the same thing and are similar quality.
I recently had the opportunity to try out a brand of mascara that I never heard of before, but apparently it’s a very popular brand. It’s called Blinc. They make products for your eyes and eyebrows, from liner to mascara. The brand sells one mascara every 30 seconds worldwide. That is amazing!
The brand was kind enough to send me samples of their products to try out for myself. They were VERY generous and sent me several mascaras. I honestly didn’t want to open them all up and try them seeing as how I’d have to throw them out in 2-3 months. It seemed like a waste doing that. Instead I opened up one of their mascaras and a few other products to try out.
I started off with the original Blinc mascara.
Blic make up is created to be long lasting. It resists water and oil, letting wearers rub their eyes, cry, sweat, add eye drops, and wear contacts without worrying about their mascara moving. Humid weather, trips to the gym, eye-watering allergies? There’s no problem. It’s travel-proof, sweat-proof, and climate-proof, making it perfect for any occasion.
I use eye drops several times per day due to my chronic dry eyes. I do not like to wear waterproof mascara because it’s next to impossible to wash off at the end of the day. When I used my eye drops while wearing Blinc mascara it did exactly what it said it would – it stayed perfectly in place. There were no smudges or drips. Not only that, you can wash Blinc mascara off with no problem. It washes as well as the mascara I was using prior, but that mascara would get smudgy when I put in my eye drops.
Blinc mascara is not your ordinary mascara. It’s tubing mascara. I have never heard of that term before, so I Googled it.
According to CNN.com;
While regular mascaras are made with waxes and silicones, tubing mascaras are made with water-soluble polymers that create flexible tubes around each lash. The result is a flawless finish that’s easy to remove.
Blinc is actually mentioned in that article as one of the best tubing mascaras.
Applying the Blinc mascara is a little different that I normally apply mascara. Normally I just swipe up. With Blinc mascara you do that, but you also wiggle the brush back and forth as you are applying it. I guess that method helps the mascara to get all over the lash hair as you apply it.
Removing the Blinc mascara requires water and a cotton pad. Just add water to the pad, then to the lashes to help loosen the tubes. You can also use your finger tips and warm water to wet them and literally roll the tubes off. Yes, actual tubes. It’s the weirdest thing. It looks like your lashes are coming off, but they are not. It’s ONLY the mascara. The first time I took off the Blinc I was shocked. But honestly, it’s super simple to remove the mascara.
I have found that the mascara stays on all day, and it looks as good as it did when I first applied it. Aside from not smudging when I use my eye drops, there is no flaking. That is something I dislike about mascara – the flaking. It gets in my eyes and having dry eyes already it only ends up irritating my eyes.
You would think that a special mascara like this would cost a small fortune. It does not. I mean, it’s more than I am used to spending (it’s more in my daughter’s price range), but, I think it’s worth every penny. Just the fact that it doesn’t flake or smudge makes it a great choice if you ask me. Now that I have tried Blinc mascara I don’t think I can go back to the $10 stuff I normally buy. I just don’t know if I can afford it all the time.
Blinc also sent me other products to try out.
I normally use a pencil eyeliner. I find that I don’t have a steady hand to use liquid eyeliner, and I tend to smudge the eyeliner intentionally to soften it up.
I gave the eye liner to my daughter to try out for me. She is always good with that sort of stuff.
She did a very good job with it (the regular one, she hasn’t tried the micropoint one yet).
She didn’t want me to show her photo on my site, so I just cropped out the important part – her eyes (which look blood shot for some odd reason).
The eyeliner is on her top lashes (the wing part). I don’t think she used it on the bottom. I think that is only mascara).
I received to review the brand’s lash and brow enhancer serum and their eyebrow mousse.
I have used serums on my lashes in the past, and a brow serum once as well. I like that you do notice a difference usually in a short amount of time.
The Blinc Lash and Brow Enhancer Serum says you’ll see results in as little as seven (7) days. I don’t know about that, but I started to notice a difference in my brows in about two weeks.
I have sparse spots on my brows, especially my left brow. I am always filling that in with eyebrow pencil. I don’t know the first thing about shaping my brows (I’ve never had them waxed), but I do know that the sparse spots bother me.
The serum is easy to apply. I have encounter no irritation or negative side effects from it’s use. You use this once a day, at night, on a clean face. I like that you only have to apply it once a day. Other serum products I’ve had to apply twice a day (morning and night).
I don’t know if I am seeing resulting in my lashes yet, but I know it can take several weeks for optimum results. The mascara and eye liner have been amazing thus far, so I have no doubt in this product.
The eyebrow mousse it pretty cool. It does tint your lash area a bit, which helps when you have sparse patches. It also helps you to brush your eyebrows into your desired shape.
Just like the mascara, the eyebrow mousse stays in place. It doesn’t smudge or flake and is easily removeable.
I didn’t do much with my eyebrows in the past, except fill in the sparse spots when I was going out with my husband. Now that I have tried this product and seen how nice my brows can look, I am going to continue to use this product, and the serum, until my forgotten about brows look as good as they are suppose to.
I can see why this is a popular brand. I am happy that I had the opportunity to give their products a “test drive.” I am not a fan and I’ll continue to purchase their products every chance I get. As I stated before, they are not budget friendly, but they are worth every penny in my opinion.
To learn more about these products visit BlincCosmetics.au (notice it’s not .com). Blinc products can be purchased at many retail locations including Amazon, Target, Sephora, Sally Beauty, Ulta, Walmart and other retailers.
You can also find the brand on Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram.
Have you tried Blinc products before? Have you ever used a tubing mascara? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts. I always love to hear from readers.
