My family owns a Wii. Sadly we don’t play it as often as we should. The Wii offers so many games that allow you to get up and move around. It’s like exercising without really thinking about it.
My husband and I do not let our kids use the Wii (or Game Cube) during the week. They are only allowed ot use it Friday after school through Sunday evening. We feel that during the week their focus should be on school and not on video games.
We always love to check out the newest Wii titles. We tend to go for the same types of games so it’s always nice to venture outside our typical genre of video games and try out something different.
We had the opportunity to try a game called Raving Rabbids: Travel in Time. I have seen Raving Rabbids before but we’ve never played any of their games. My middle school aged son told me that a few of his friends have mentioned the Raving Rabbids games so he was some what familiar with them. My daughter kept thinking it was a game that featured cute little rabbits. Cute they are not. The Raving Rabbids are rather creepy looking if you ask me.
The Travel in Time game takes the Raving Rabbids throughout history, allowing them to mess it up along the way. I’m sure many of us have wondered what it would be like to go back in time and alter just one little thing to see what effect it would have on our lives today. I think about that sometimes.
In this game your Raving Rabbids get to take wear different costumes from throughout history. Some of them are rather amusing.
Sometimes when we played the game it felt more like you were watching a cartoon on the Cartoon Network. I’m rather surprised they haven’t thought about a Raving Rabbids cartoon series. They’re slapstick humor seems to appeal to children, especially my son. In the game the Rabbids travel through time in a washing machine. What kid wouldn’t find that amusing? Ha Ha.
There are so many games within Travel in Time. I lost count! Every time I’d walk in the living room the kids were playing something totally different. There are a lot of mini-games which are sure to keep your family entertained for a long time as I’m sure it will take a lot of game playing to master each and every one of them.
I know my kids laughed a lot playing the game. I could hear them from the kitchen.
I tried to play the game but I honestly don’t understand it. I guess kids are better at figuring things out. There are no instructions with the games. Not that I saw anyway. You sort of have to guess what you have to do. Thankfully I am not a competitive person. I just play for the fun of it, therefore if I don’t do well I don’t take it personally. It’s all in good fun.
You can play with up to four people. If you don’t have four people (or four controllers in our case) the game fills in the rest for you. I’m grateful that both my kids were able to play at the same time so that there was no fighting over who got to play the game first.
Here is a great video that gives you some more details about the games, plus gives you a sneak peek at the Rabbids and some of the periods in time that the reap havoc on.
Crazy stuff! Don’t you agree that this would make an interesting cartoon series too?
My husband never played the game. He really had no interest. I played it a few times. I was confused but I could certainly see the appeals. The Rabbids are entertaining the watch more so then the games themselves (in my opinion).
I asked my son what he thought about the game. He said the game is “cool” . I asked him to elaborate further he said that the games are fun. His favorite games were the flying games and racing games. He liked how funny the Rabbids were to watch. Some parts of history he really didn’t know much about. He just liked playing the games.
I asked my daughter about the game. She said it was funny. She didn’t really have a favorite game or mini-game. She said she wished the Rabbids were cuter. I asked her to pick out one favorite thing about the game and she said she liked being able to unlock different costumes.
Overall I think its a good game. We have never played any of the other Raving Rabbids games so I can not compare this game with them. As far as the humor is concerned my kids found this game hysterical to watch and interact with. I also like that the game has so many mini-games that your child won’t get easily bored with it like other games. Once a game is mastered it loses it’s thrill and appeal. I think it would take a very long time to master each and everyone of these games.
Raving Rabbids: Travel in Time gets a two thumbs up from my family.
Raving Rabbids: Travel in Time is available where ever video games are sold.
