I LOVE receiving holiday cards. Many years ago I couldn’t open up my mailbox during the holiday season without seeing at least one Christmas card. Sadly, these days when I open up my mailbox I’m either seeing an empty box or a box full of bills. Sigh…
Just because my family and friends don’t send out holiday cards like they used to doesn’t mean for one second that I don’t send out cards. I still do. I send cards to let my family and friends know that I am thinking of them during the holiday season and wishing them a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.
I used to buy generic boxed cards back in the day when I would send out dozens of cards (it was more cost efficient that way). These days I prefer to send handmade cards, or card with something special to them. Most of the cards I sent out this year were handmade.
Have you ever heard of Lovepop cards? If you are a fan of the TV series Shark Tank, you might have seen Love Pop cards. In fact, Shark Tank was the first time I heard (and saw) the cards. I fell in love with them. They are more than just cards – they are 3D pieces of art.
Let’s face it, most people toss out cards after a few days or weeks. I personally hold on to special cards, as well as cards from special people in my life. I still have cards my great-grandparents gave me. I love looking back on the notes they wrote me as well as seeing their handwriting.
Lovepop cards are cards you’ll never want to toss out. They are fun to “play” with and they make unique holiday decorations.
Lovepop cards look like ordinary cards at first, but when you open them up you are greeted by a three dimensional design that “pops up” as the card opens.
Here is a brief video of on Lovepop card in action.
How cool is that?
This looks like an ordinary card (the color is washed out due to the lighting – it’s much nicer in person). But when you open it up, this is what greets you.
It’s a lovely candle seated in a bed of pine pieces, sitting on top of what looks like a pretty table cloth. I couldn’t get it all in the photo. It’s hard to hold the card open and take a photo at the same time.
Here is another lovely example.
Make note of the footprint around the tree.
Open it up and this is what you see…
It’s a beautiful snow covered tree in the middle of a field (you can see the footprints around the tree on the ground). The tree is decorated (it’s hard to tell from the photo). There is even a beautiful red cardinal seated on a tree branch (you can sort of see it on the top left of the tree in this photo).
You can see more cards like this from their holiday collection page.
There is nothing to assemble. The card are ready to open and enjoy.
They are fun to open and close and try and figure out how they work. From above you can see that the pieces are connected, but how they all work together when you open and close the cards fascinates me.
There is a blank piece of paper that slides out from the back of the card to write your personal note on. This avoids you having to write on the inside of the card and ruining the beautiful design. I love that Lovepop thought of that idea.
Lovepop cards are available for a variety of occasions, holidays and seasons including birthday, thank you, graduation, Valentines Day and Mother’s Day, to name a few. They also carry themed cards for Star Wars, Jurassic World and Game of Thrones.
Check out these other delightful examples.
The cards sell for $13 – $15. There are also special cards and boxed sets available.
When you think about the cost of an ordinary card ($3 – $6 give or take), a Lovepop card is reasonably priced considering what you are getting.
Lovepop even has a card of the month club for $10 a month (includes free shipping). I am honestly contemplating subscribing to that so that I always have top quality cards on hand for any occasion. Not only will the recipient receive a beautiful and unique card, but I’ll always have something on hand so I can avoid a trip to the store to shop for a card.
If you are interested in checking out the cards that Lovepop offers, visit LovepopCards.com. Be sure to check back often to see the new cards that are added.
Lovepop is also on social media. Their links are found on the bottom of their website.
What do you think about these amazing cards? Would you love to give, or receive, a Lovepop card?
